Despite its name, this little greenhouse intruder has a taste for spicy foods. I found this guy on my Carolina Reaper pepper. The hornworm is the larval (caterpillar) form of a moth. It can strip foliage very quickly and I was very happy to find him before he did much damage. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more of these!

I toss every hornworm I find to my chickens. They go mad for them. That is unless it has eggs laid on it. Those I leave alone. They are a host to the beneficial Braconid wasp.
