How To Keep Your Herbs from Going to Seed, LoveFriday S0209

My Herbs are going to Seed!

Now is usually the time of year that your herb plants and other useful kitchen herbs will start to go to seed. To keep your plants from doing so, harvest off the ends of all major branches of the plant. This will keep the plant producing into the autumn season. Below you can see photos of my thyme that I let go to seed this year. If I had pinched the tops of each of the flowered branches a few weeks earlier (when the flower buds started showing up) then I would not have a seeded plant right now.

Photos taken with a Samsung mobile device. All photos are in their original state, no editing has been used. Call it The Mobile Camera Experiment. Or I could just be lazy...yeah, probably that one.
