Come join me on a walk as I do my daily chores.

Learn what we do here while following me around the farm.

Grapes

Roosters And Hens

First one's up every morning are the hens and roosters. They're ready to be let out of the hen house and start their day.

chickens in the morning.jpg

We feed them a little grain to give them an energy boost for chasing grasshoppers, digging and weeding under the trees. Then we give them fresh water every day.

We collect today's fresh eggs for breakfast.

The Rabbits

Then we feed and water the rabbits.

The Goats

Then we move on to the goats.

Farm Breakfast

Once all the animals are fed, it's our turn. Fresh from the farm breakfasts are the best. Most of the food is picked the same morning as we're feeding the animals.

Potatoes, garlic, parsley and eggs. All from the farm.

quincejam.jpg

Quince jam. Grown and made on the farm.

applejuice.jpg

Apples grown, picked and just pressed.

A couple of cups of this fresh, pressed apple juice and a cup of french pressed coffee gives us plenty of energy in the morning.

Cat caught some breakfast too. Wild rabbit.

Watering The Propagation House

Then we water the propagation house. Got to keep those seedlings thriving.

Here Come The Customers

Soon, people start arriving to the farm to pick what's in season. Right now it's apples and grapes. We're very thankful for our happy customers.

Grapes on the vine are the best sugar rush.

This is my favorite time to connect with people and educate them about the process of growing food.

Harvesting Seed

Then we harvest seed for next year.

These are red runner beans, but I call them magic beans. I love to see the looks on kids faces when I tell them they're magic beans. They always ask me if I got them from Jack.

Canning

Storing food for the winter is work, but well worth it.

Good post. You should be a very happy camper with all of that fresh home grown that abounds you.

We are very happy campers indeed. Abundance surrounds us and we eat like kings.

As you should. Congratulations for your success.

That's a busy day but very rewarding, Love the Goats and rabbits so cute :)

They are so cute, right? It's fun taking them for a walk sometimes. They prune the lower branches on the apple trees.

Taking a goat for a walk wow that's a new experience. there gorgeous

Of course luzcypher has to have goats, right? There's a farm about a mile away that have 170 goats. That's where we got them from. They're called Oberhasli goats. She gives about a 1-1.5 gallons of milk per day. The kids are just now weened. We're getting 2 more kids as soon as they're old enough to leave their mother so we'll have a momma and 4 kid goats soon. After they are all weened, we'll start milking her and making cheese.

A lovely Way to live, hard work but worth it.

It looks amazing. I'm jealous.

Beautiful post!
Farm life is so much healthier and more enjoyable that city life. I could never go back. Have you seen any of @gardenofeden posts?
Your farm looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Yes. I'm following @gardenofeden. Farm life is healthy for sure and keeps you fit. I've lived in some amazing cities around the world though too and loved many of them. Thanks for enjoying the pics.

UPVoted and following!

Cool, we're following each other!

That looks like heavens buffet.

Not just the Post, but WOW
did ur Cat really hunt down that lil rabbit !!??
I wish my cat would apport me a lil rabbit as a free dinner, not always a dirty mouse or a poor rockin robin. On the other side id rather live meat free so id say thanks kitty but it wouldnt have been nescessary, u can keep it all for urself :D

Chores before breakfast?

Yep, that's what my kids get too; in fact, I'm about to call them over to see this.

Also, love the sauerkraut.

Awwww, you didn't have to do that!

(but I'm glad you did!)

Your alpines are gorgeous. So are your chickens and did I see a duck? I miss our animals. Thanks for sharing Steem ON! Here I am milking our best Alpine, queen of the hurd.

Nice. Goat milk is the best. We have about 15 ducks at tge moment, down from 30. They had 45 duckling this year and we sold them all. Thankfully.
