Quick post before supper and more work!

We started at noon and it was 101° out. Our second load was about 1:30 and 107°. When we got back it was 110°. Now it's cooling off and I'm almost done!

Mom and dad are here for supper and I'm supposed to go get the chickens after dark before work. We'll see how that goes.

Uhaul for the coop structure in the morning. It's gonna be a super rough yet super rewarding 24 hours.

Y'all work hard and stay relevant!

Can't wait for daily chicken pictures 😄 👍

There's only four of the little cuties right now, but I'm certain they'll make regular appearances in our daily garden posts :)

Nice! Folks at my camp raise chickens. I reap the reward in fresh, delicious eggs! I take home about a dozen a week! Have fun!

Sweet!! That's quite the hook up! One of the ladies at work has hooked us up with a few dozen when she found out we were getting chickens. She said "here's what you have to look forward to" and I was hooked.

haha, i didnt hate it. Another interesting thing is that chickens love to eat Japanese Beatles (among like the million things chickens will eat). If you find they are a nuisance to your gardening (as they are for most folks) you can make a trap with the beetles falling into a feeding cup for the chickens. It makes for DELICIOUS eggs. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

June bugs?

We've actually had surprisingly little insect problem here. But it could always be better :)

im sure they would eat the shit out of june bugs as well.

Ummmm, you said 3 month old bantams, right? Is there wire on the inside of the pallets?

Our broiler chicks (heritage birds) persisted in going thro the 2" x 3" spaces of our chicken netting up until a couple weeks ago.....

There actually is! :) The bit that got done is on the inside, so yay! And since that's a consideration, I'll lower the door too. It sits a couple inches off the ground.
