This was unplanned, but it sure works well!
Recently, I began planting garden seeds again. Sometimes I've been known to just grab whatever is lying around, but this time I found a really good tool!
CHECK THIS OUT!
Since I carry tire repair kits in my vehicle, and since we use them pretty often, I've got some of these extra tools lying around.
Not only are they ergonomic and compact, they work really well! No matter what depth the seed needs to be planted at, or what size the seed is, these seem to do the job. I haven't used these prior to this season, but I've used them both in my actual garden and the seed trays, and the results were certainly satisfactory.
I know that a variety of tools have been designed for this purpose, but sometimes other things work too. I've used sticks often enough in times past too. Have you ever used something interesting to plant seeds? Did it work out? Do you think you may try some of these for planting seeds in the future?

I've used a shovel, when we were kids. Ripped open a big pile of earth. And my dad has used a screw driver before.( If only I'd been on steemit then. )

We've used ballpoint pens that have stopped working, a thin busted chisel, a metal punch, small metal sticks, broken handles from rakes and such for planting bigger plants, and that's all I can think of off the top of my head. -Tilly

For larger seeds and transplants the broken handle of a spade that has been sharpened is very useful, the handle on top allows a better grip for penetrating the ground if needed.
Originally I used a pocket knife to whittle the broken end, but now I have a linishing belt on the bench grinder it takes very little time and does a better job.

hahahaha @ hearing problems. I think the ones for leather are quite smaller, so the thread can go through, well, maybe they made a bigger one though, but haven't seen this before.

@papa-pepper this same equipment despite it been use to plant. Do u also know you can use it in your farm. When your ruminant have bloat you can use it to debloat. It is called trocar in vet. Like you've always known it same vet steemian. So another function despite it can be use to deflate tyre.

Yeah, I typically use sticks and toothpicks. These tire tools are nice as they'll be easier to clean the dirt/mud off. Of course, it would mean I'd have to think more before I plant, so I'll never have them with me and I'll still be using sticks...

Multipurpose hahaha. I most of the time just dig the ground with hand trowel and stick the seed in, then cover. Never seen this before though, but it's doing the job, not damaging the seeds, so, perfect.

LOL very nice. I actually use a kitchen knife sharpener so I can poke the hole for the seed and measure to my next one. I use to rope off grids to plant with but it was a lot of time just so the row is a little straighter. Always great to find me uses for something you already have.
