Tomato Update

I haven't posted about my tomatoes for a while now so I figured I'd give an update!

So since my last post, I've moved them all out of the greenhouse because they just didn't have enough room in there anymore. Some are incredibly tall!

(Though I'm also incredibly short 😋)

Almost all of them are blooming nicely, some faster than others, but it's not a race is it?

After moving them out of the greenhouse, we had some intense storms roll through and with them came high winds threatening to crack the poor things off!

So back into the greenhouse they went! Moving fifteen large tomato plants in and out of a greenhouse every few days is a bit of a pain but I have no doubt it will be worth it!!

We were too late taking a couple in the other night and it was damaged by the wind banging it around in its cage. Poor guy! He should be ok though!

This purple bumblebee might be my favourite (shhhhh... don't tell the others 😉)

I put it in this hanging basket instead of a pot like the rest. On its first night it almost died of shock from the temperature of the greenhouse floor. It had completely drooped and I was sure it would die. I brought it inside and like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, it came back by the next morning. I kept it inside until it was stronger then hardened it off again and hung it on the fence. It has braved all the storms and now has the most thick, intensely green leaves of any of the others!

It's awesome! This little gal doesn't have any flowers yet but I'm sure she will soon!

I'm so happy with my garden this year! There's no hobby as rewarding for me, that's for sure!

I know a few friends in the US have had root rot and fungus/mould issues this year with their tomato plants, it must be heart breaking to put in all that work only to have them die! Hopefully my tomato babies make it through the whole season!
