So I made a beautiful fire pit!

When you have broken up foundations and sidewalks, you can do some pretty amazing things. Here at Phoenix Retreat I gathered broken concrete from around the yard to make a beautiful wood burning fire pit.

Start by digging a 3ft diameter hole 8 - 10 inches deep

Stack broken concrete pieces in a circle leaving openings for air-flow

Add family and friends ...

A fire pit is a great way to attract neighbors and create a sense of community. Here at the Phoenix Retreat the pit will serve as a focal point for gatherings where we will generate ideas for growth and discuss sustainability and spirituality.

Good post
Fire in a childhood will be a good friend but when it is enlarged then it can be a strong opponent
Hopefully the fire that friends make for can be a good friend

Indeed, a well controlled fire is a good thing. Thankfully we have water near by in case it should escape the pit.

And so it begins! Let the conversation begin. Hey, that's me in that picture...

Yep it sure is! I'm documenting many of the things I do lately.
