in gardening •  7 years ago  (edited)

In this video, I show an update on the sunflower seed microgreens and the baby lettuce.

I also picked up a Sunblaze T5 fluorescent 2 foot supplemental grow light because the natural light is not sufficient for healthy and efficient growth.

It has been very a cloudy and rainy February here in the Midwest. IMG_7050.JPG

I also show how I put the seedling heat mat across the 2 flats.

The main part of the video shows how I take heirloom tomato cuttings that I showed in the previous video posted here.

I use Coco plugs (made out of coconut husk fiber) soaked in Reverse Osmosis water. Screen Shot 2018-02-24 at 4.04.36 PM.png

Shown in the Video:

  1. How to prepare the plugs and the tray.
  2. I show where I cut off the Mother plant (from seed).
  3. How I cut off the suckers
  4. How I to cut the tips of the leaves for successful transpiration during the rooting process.

Remember to Label all your varieties. Spray under the humidity dome at least twice a day depending on relative humidity. Drain out any excess water in the flat.

No hormones or gels were used. They are tomatoes after all. After 5 days inside under the humidity dome, they popped roots. My next videos will show how I transplanted them and where they are now.

hey Tony, ever checked out aquaponics? I just posted about it due to seeing a video from aggroed, but good timing here. I just found you on the voices of openmic. I am a pro musician here in Dallas TX. I was also jjust researching dsound and found your recent post....anyway, synchronicity abound.... all is well, Mark

My apologies for the late response, one week of moving will do it to ya! But it's over and now I can get back at it. Yes! I love aquaponics! I helped out a business set up one for a demo with Tilapia in a 500 gl tank and lettuce. Thank you for reaching out and will head back to your page for a follow!

Hey Tony, moving is a b**** I figured you might be into it. cool cool
