I hope you all are good and enjoying your lives. Today I'm here to be a part of this amazing contest "SEC-S20W3 | 2nd Half: Pasta.". First I would like to thank chef @nahela to present this topic. In our traditional food pasta is not included but due to Chinese / Italian cuisine it enterd to our menu list. My kids love to eat pasta 3-4 times a week . I used instant noodles too for late night cravings of my kids.

Lets move to the contest question.

Have you ever made fresh pasta at home? What was your experience like? Tell us.

No, I didn't prepare fresh pasta at home , I bought ready made pasta of different shapes and made of different ingredients like egg noodles, wheat pasta ,whole wheat pasta ,instant noodles.

I made first time pasta at home . My experience was very nice . My daughter was with me to learn how can we make it home and she'll try by herself on this weekend too. As contest requires made pasta for one person so I made today pasta for one person.

It was so delicious that when I gave it to my son at lunch and said try it and share it with your younger sister too. He allowed only one spoon to taste her. She was very angry and said you should make it for your all kids.

So she will make by herself, shes just 10 years old. I made less because I was trying first time and I don't want to waste ingredients if kids dont like it.

Very simple and easy method of making pasta was learnt by me through this contest and I will make in future too.

Fresh pasta recipe for 1 person:

ingredients need for pasta

Ingredients:

85 g of wheat flour
1 egg
pinch of salt
Flour to make the dough.

Necessary utensils:

Rolling pin

Procedure:

  • First take 85 g of good quality flour. I used measuring scale to get exactly weight. As I'm making pasta for one person so amout of flour should be 85_100g .
  • Place all flour on flat surface, make hole at its center and add egg and 1 pinch of salt to it.

  • Mixed all ingredients nicely and making it like a dough.

  • Keep dough in a plastic bag and rest it for 1 hr.

  • Take Rolling pin and dust flour on dough and flat it to a thin sheet. As we stretch the dough then we can make pasta of our desired shape.

You can see i made wide strip or pappardelle pasta

We would like you to use the pasta you made to create 1 main dish for 1 person. Please tell us what sauce you used or what ingredients you used to complement the pasta to create your main dish. Support your explanation with your own photos.

Of course, I used these fresh pasta with chicken meat in red sauce to make it yummy recipe. To make this yummy pasta i follow these steps.

  • Add 1/2tsp garlic paste in oil over a pan. Sauté it for few seconds and add chicken chunks to it.

  • I used red sauce and for seasoning add black pepper, salt ,Soya sauce, vinegar according to my taste. Cook all ingredients for 1-2 minutes. You can add more sauce and spices as you want. I usually add some cheese at this point to give it rich taste but today I'm making it for my son he doesn't like cheese so I skipped it from recipe.

  • Boil water in a pan add 1tsp of oil and salt then add freshly prepared pasta in it and cook for 5-6 minutes or until pasta done. Strain excess water from pasta through steiner.

  • Add pasta to the prepared sauce in a pan , mix it and cook it for few minutes to rich the flavour to pasta.

  • You can add any seasoning at this point on your desire, serve it hot . Yummy chicken pappardelle pasta is ready to enjoy.

  • Must try this yummy recipe at home you'll love it.

Which starter and which dessert would go with the main dish you just prepared? Imagine a 3-course menu that goes with your pasta.

To make a perfect three course menu, starter and dessert would go with this main course.

Starter:
For starter, I would like to have cheesy garlic bread , our main course is chicken pasta .

Dessert:
For dessert, I like to have fudge brownie with it.

As usual you did great 👍👍, following all rules with spectacular images,I am sure I was really tamping in flavor 😋😋. Pasta 🍝 one of my family,s favorite dish I will try to make it at home I never ever make at more bought from market we cooked but after seeing your post it's quite easy.
