Finding out your BEST friend is gay?!

You hear a lot of people talking about and making fun of others who are attracted to the same sex: Faggot, Queer, Gay, Fruit cake, Flamer, etc! It’s awful! I know everyone makes “gay” jokes, but not really with any reference to gay people! Anyway, I had a really good friend I’ve know since high school and worked with that would be the last person you’d ever think were gay. He was married with a beautiful wife and had two kids and he was a big burly, muscular guy. Come to find out, he had been gay his whole life and left his wife for another man. I remember finding out and him telling me he lost a lot of friends over it! I told him that’s a stupid reason to stop being friends with someone. I thought no different of him. He’s still my friend. Why should I care if he likes guys or girls? Most people think that being gay is a decision that you make one day out of the blue. It’s not. You can’t control who you’re attracted to! Do you think with all the crap that gay people get, that they would just choose that lifestyle?! It’s a shame they have to be afraid to be who they really are. So, if you have a friend that is gay or finally admits they’re gay, don’t stop being their friend and don’t treat them any differently! They’re the same person they’ve always been!
