Looking at the world, through the eyes of the child.

Children, toddlers, boys, girls of different ages, colours, shapes and sizes they all lovable, adorable and give us all the joy we need including heartache too.

If only adults, could look at the world from the eyes of a child, could you ever imagine seeing a picture of four complete strange adults of different culture, race and sex lying done on the ground with such big smiles and mischievous looks on their face, no not at all, as children enjoy each and every moment possible, without worrying about what anyone is thinking while adults think and analyse each moment instead of enjoying it. Learning should be an everyday experience not only for children but ongoing for adults.

Imagine it is 6 am and everybody is sleeping and all of a sudden the alarm clock goes off, the adult will automatically wake up and turn off the alarm clock and think that this is it, time to start the day. In contrast, the child comes running in shouting good morning, jumping onto the bed and dancing or singing to the tune of the alarm clock.

As we watch children play, we can see that what interests them is making friends with whom they can play, enjoy and have fun, they don’t ever look first at the child and decide if they are really good for them. Children have no sense of the cruel world we live in. They are carefree, loving and full of surprises; adults can always expect the unexpected from a child’s innocence. As a child, their parents are their heroes, hugs, kisses and high-fives are what make them feel loved and joyful.

Don’t let these innocent and sweet faces fool you, you are bound to experience daily tantrums, mumbling of words, sulking when they don’t get their way. A lot of screaming, shouting and crying and dinner times are not quiet and peaceful expect food fights and drinks being spilled on themselves or on siblings.

Looking into the big picture, children play and work at their own pace, it’s all about getting down dirty, making believe games, imagination and play pretend. If only adults could be as innocent and partial as children, when it comes to socialising, work and play. This world would be a better place if only we could all see the world from the eyes of a child.
