The Untold Truth (fiction)

in gedwriting •  8 years ago  (edited)

Growing up, my father used to tell me stories about me mom. In these stories my mom was always some sort of hero, saving the day. It wasn’t until I was much older that I found out the truth…

When I was sixteen I found a news article in my dad’s study. It was dated a year after my birth. It had a large photo of my mom on it as she was being escorted out of my house with her hands behind her back. The article read

“Elisabeth Tayler, wife of Malcom Tayler, and mother of twin daughters Leah-May and Lilly-Ann. Was arrested earlier this week for the murder of youngest daughter Leah-May. Luckily husband Malcom awoke to she screams of Lilly-Ann, and rushed to the twin’s bedroom. He was shocked to find Leah-May laying on the ground in her own puddle of blood. Fearing the life of his other daughter, he calmly tried to get his wife to surrender the large kitchen knife that had still been dripping fresh blood. She refused to cooperate, but he got close enough to pin her down.

A neighbour heard the cries of Lilly-Ann, and called the police saying “The cries do not sound like that of a kid who just wants her bottle.”
Shortly after the police arrived and with a screaming consent from Malcom, kicked the door down and arrested Elisabeth. Leah-May was rushed to the hospital, but sadly could not be saved.
When asked why she did it, Elisabeth responded “They were demons! I was protecting us!”

After pleading insanity, she was sent to a mental institution and will never see the outside world again.”
