Why I Write

Ever since I have been a small child, I knew that my passion was writing. I made up stories, since before I could write. That was my hobby, and my entertainment. I still make up stories, and it has brought me through a lot of struggles in my life. I have always struggled with social anxiety. Because of my anxiety I struggle to make friends. Most people say that I only hide behind my excuses, but unfortunately it is not so.

Other people with social anxiety will know exactly what I am saying. I live in a prison and my anxiety keeps me from being the person that I can be.

Certain things in life I can not bring myself to do. I do not handle criticism well, and I have an absolute fear of speaking in front of people or even to strangers.

I freeze up and it feels as though my throat is shut. On top of that I feel jittery and shaky and I can literally feel all the eyes on me. Mocking me.... trying to get me to crumble.

Over the years, my social anxiety has kept me from so many opportunities.

The only thing in my life that keeps me going, is my writing. Writing has never held me back. Writing opens the world to me. I travel to far away countries in the blink of an eye into a world without fear and regrets. A world where I can be completely free to be whatever, and where ever I want to be.

For me writing is more than just words on a paper....my stories are part of my feelings, and my emotions, an escape from the harsh reality of the world that we live in.

When my mom passed away a few years ago, I received a diary from a friend. I wrote a letter to my mother every single day, and I still do...This helped me cope with the loss as I was very young when she left us.

I know that my mom can not read this, and she can't reply, but it calms me down. My writing has helped me through my dad's terrible relationships, and being bullied in school.

My biggest dream in the world is to become a writer. I want to make a career out of writing, and the best place to start is here on Steemit. I want to put my visions into a reality so that other's who also struggle with anxiety could also benefit.

I am so grateful for my teacher @giantbear who introduced me to steemit. A friend of mine also helps me to edit my posts as I have to write on my phone.

I have decided to save up for new laptop as it is extremely difficult to write only on my phone. So from today on wards all my steemit money will be saved towards purchasing a new laptop. I am determined and I know that I will succeed.

If you enjoy my posts, please upvote and resteem. All money earned will go towards saving for a new laptop.

Once I have a laptop I will be able to produce many more stories, to entertain everyone. If anyone would like to make a small donation that will also be very much appreciated. I need about $400 to buy a proper entrance level laptop.

I appreciate all the upvotes and all the support tremendously!

This is very cool. Thanks to kenny who shared this on Twitter so I could find it! Your story sounds familiar to me as well. I encourage you to keep on writing and please notify me when you write a new post.

Thank you very much and i will most defanitly let you know

I am very excited to see another writer here. Everything you wrote completely resonates with me.

To be blunt, I write because bloodletting is legal in fiction. I cannot tell you how many bullies and mean people I've murdered in my stories. But I've also been a super hero and a super villain -- and I've traveled the world and the galaxy. I write because it is freeing and I'm so glad to see you feel similarly.

Follow the 3 C's: Content - COMMENTS - Curation and you will see your Steemit community grow. :) Best wishes on doing just that and earning enough for a top-notch laptop! (Don't limit yourself, your goals or your dreams!)
