A lonely couple, who want a child, live next to a walled garden belonging to an evil witch named Dame Gothel. The wife, experiencing the cravings associated with the arrival of her long-awaited pregnancy, notices some rapunzel (or, in most translated-to-English versions[13] of the story, rampion), growing in the garden and longs for it. She refuses to eat anything else and gets sick, and the husband begins to fear for her life. One night, her husband breaks into the garden to get some for her. She makes a salad out of it and greedily eats it. It tastes so good that she longs for more. So her husband goes to get some more for her. As he scales the wall to return home, Dame Gothel catches him and accuses him of theft. He begs for mercy, and she agrees to be lenient, and allows him to take all the rapunzel he wants, on condition that the baby be given to her when it's born. Desperate, he agrees. When his wife has a baby girl, Dame Gothel takes her to raise as her own and names her Rapunzel after the plant her mother craved. She grows up to be the most beautiful child in the world with long golden hair. When she turns twelve, Dame Gothel locks her up inside a tower in the middle of the woods, with neither stairs nor a door, and only one room and one window. In order to visit Rapunzel, Dame Gothel stands beneath the tower and calls out:

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may climb thy golden stair."

One day, a prince rides through the forest and hears Rapunzel singing from the tower. Entranced by her ethereal voice, he searches for her and discovers the tower, but is naturally unable to enter it. He returns often, listening to her beautiful singing, and one day sees Dame Gothel visit, and thus learns how to gain access to Rapunzel. When Dame Gothel leaves, he bids Rapunzel let her hair down. When she does so, he climbs up and they fall in love. He eventually asks her to marry him, which she agrees to.

Do they live happily ever after, dear reader of my posts?

Well, for the rest of the story you have to look for

But I can guarantee you one thing....

it's not all smooth sailing.

Yes, for a while there was some

very stormy weather!

You know how those Grimm fairy tales are!

@onceuponatime,
Grim Fairy Tales were not tales for me at my childhood! Sotimes in today also I don't think they are faries at all lol :D
I wish this time Rapunzel will not hurt anyone in Greece like her fairy nature!

Cheers~

But after the storm you can see this IMG_20190125_133119.jpg

You don't need to sell me on it. I've already bought :-)

Oh My god that dammm view :D

What are you talking about? I didn't do a selfie :-)

Haha! I thought that guy at the stone step was looking rather handsome and mysterious! Long range selfie! Could be, sort of any way!

Oh, THAT view! Yes, you are both right then :-)

Love stories are the best and even more special when accompanied by such beautiful photos <3

So you think love stories are better than true stories :-)

Sometimes love stories are true stories :D

Yes, but how many people would recognize a "true" story as being a love story? How many people even know what love is?

This was Rapunzel in Disneyland Hong Kong.:-)

Cool!!! But the Disney version is a lot milder than the original Grimm Brothers version.

I think you're right though this display there is cool in that there is a knob to turn and the hair goes up and down by that.

I remember those Grimm fairy tales. They were pretty dark and stormy. Blessings.

Yup, they don't make fairy tales like they used to. But why would they? You just have to read about some of the things politicians and religious leaders have been accused and convicted of perpetrating. Dark fairy tales then pale into insignificance :-)

Excellent post and very very lovely photography...my dear friend

I am so happy that you like it.

I guess/hope they do live happily ever after.. In fairy tales the good should prevail and perfection should exist.. Thus us, common men can be hopeful and inspired :)

I think you had better take a look at the original Grimms Brothers fairy tales rather than the sanitized Walt Disney versions. You might be in for a shock.

I know.. :/ They are cruel!! My grandmother's fairy tales were closer to Grimms' than Disney's and I think I got traumatised (I couldn't sleep afterwards lol).. That's why I need a happy ending and beautiful stories at least in fairy tales :)

Eyes wide shut?

In fact eyes wide open!! :)

The first two photos really contrast each other so much that it’s a bit disturbing for me!
Then I realized you said it wasn’t all smooth sailing!!

Once you get over the "shock" you are still not home free because then comes the "awe"

Good grief! You are right! At first I didn’t believe you!
Now I am convinced you must be a psychic!
Oh! If you have some time to spare, I would love to have a reading for the Chinese New Year!

I am totally awe-struck by the nouveau Chinese Father Lunar New Year’s habit of dropping present from top of the castle!!

I will see if I have time to take a look.

Oh! It’s very gracious and kind of you, Sir!
But, ...but ... why only one eye?! Sire! Did you have a health problem! Oh ! No! This reminds me of the dollar bill with pyramid and all! LoL

My problems go way beyond health?

This gives me a serious pause. My absent Steemian/ South African friend told me in her last post that her family financial situation was under stress but everybody’s health was very good. So she’s taking one day at a time. So health is the most important thing!

Buddhists believe that we are born to face problems and sufferings so that we can learn to deal with these situations and grow spiritually. Life is tough and it often sucks! But I have to make the best of it,
come moon or shine, my back is against the wall!

But, as the saying goes: when the door is closed, God always leaves a window open, I guess it’s similar to ‘every cloud has a silver lining’.

If it’s simple health problem, not life threatening, I could do some magic from time to time with divine permission. Beyond health problem, I recommend praying and building lots of positive frequencies.
‘Mind over matter’ with effortless action. Easier said than done!

But with your caliber, I know you are capable of unimaginable things! Just believe in yourself and do it! I believe you are one in a million kind of person, with high missions in life!
Please let me know if I could be of any small assistance. You have brought laughters and smiles to many people here!

Best wishes.

Buddhists also know about spiritual warfare:

Nooooo, they do not live happily ... they are bored each other....
The field is free... Rapunzel is yours :)

Rapunzel has always been mine.

Could you give me some of her hair? I miss enough hair... :P

No. When she was at the hairdresser's shop he cut it all off and sold it to some rich Arab to make wigs for his wives. Rapunzel is heartbroken and can't stop crying. She thinks that by the time it grows back it will be grey, no longer blonde.
