Gender equality. All women and girls should be empowered.

It is said that women have increasingly played a pivotal role in society, which is equivalent with the importance of men over the past 5 decades. However, some people argue that gender equality cannot be attained completely. I would agree with this opinion, but I think the equality of sexes is now in progress.

Source Do you think the position of women has changed a great deal in society?

It is obvious that females seem to be lead in some distinct sectors. Firstly, women are likely to be paid less than men for commensurate work. This may be due to their long periods of absence from work when having pregnancy and childbirth.. Besides, the majority of women tend to struggle to balance their time spent on between family and work, unlike men who do not have to face those obstacles. Additionally, women are not the ones who wear the pants in the relationship. Specifically, they do not have the right to make crucial decisions, while men are considered the breadwinners of their families.

SourceHow to balance between family and work? That is always a big deal to any woman.

However, nowadays, women have gradually had fundamental impacts on the society. To begin with, there are more and more social activities that allow women to participate in. For instance, typically women football, has witnessed a significant rise in popularity, which appeals to millions of audiences annually all over the globe. Furthermore, there is an abundance of women those holding a vital position in different groups and communities. A convincing proof for this is Hilary Clinton who is one of the most powerful politicians of the United State.

SourceToday, women are treated equally as men in different angles of life.

In conclusion, although there is still sex inequality in several aspects, I strongly believe that men and women will play equally vital role in the future.

I agree that women could play the same role as men if it's what they desire and I think they have made big improvment over the last half century. Even if parity isn't met, women have a far better place in society than before and occasions where women are discriminated are far more marginal than systemic.

Other reasons for women to earn less then man is that "statisticly" they are more proeminent to choose part time jobs since they desire a more balanced life and also better social advantages over a big salary. Statisticly, women choose less risker jobs, aren't willing to do tons of overtime and don't always do well in the highly competitive environments. It's not true for every women, but in majority they prefer to choose a less stressful environment over a highly rewarded job.

I think there is still some improvement to be made in some countries and some areas but we are more likely around a 5% difference in my opinion, which can be explained by mens predisposition for competition and desire of recognition which encorage them to negociated their salary more agressivly which often gives higher salaries.

Opinion

I think women should take more place in our society as they have another mindset and education than what men generally have so they can bring good ideas and new collaborations techniques. They statistically are more cooperative than mens, are more gentle / friendly and people oriented.

A good litterature you should read on the topic is that memo :

Very good comment I would say. This is the first time I've seen a very long comment like that on Steemit. I agree with some points you mentioned above. However, we can't deny that women have less time spent on work, compared to men with the commensurate work.

Indeed and since they pass generally less time on work, the market tend to give them a smaller salary because of that.

We can argue if it's right or not or what we can do about it, but from a logical point of view, it's fair that they get less if they work less.

So true ! But some times, fairness seems to be unfair from humanitarian view of point. :)

I understand and sometimes reality is so complex that it's hard to really know which solution brin the most benefits overall in the end.

It was nice discuting with you, good luck with your future posts.
