First of all, yes, there are school districts in this country that are teaching gender fluidity and pronouns and all that bunk as early as elementary school. Just because it's not happening next door to you doesn't mean that it's not happening in places like Loudon county.
You may agree with such policies -- I clearly don't.
Still, we can all agree that kids are assholes, right? Can any of you honestly say that you never met a kid growing up who wouldn't weaponize policies about gender pronouns against teachers and fellow students.
I mean, I don't think that Layshia Clarendon is being malicious by saying that she uses the three sets of gender pronouns depending on how she feels (incidentally, I might be misgendering her right now because she might be identifying as "him" or "they" at the moment); but, it's still gotta be a pain in the ass to be around her and it's wrong for her to force people to walk on eggshells for her comfort.
Imagine a middle school student who has been taught this idea of how we should regard gender pronouns, at least in school, his or her entire life who just wants to disrupt class, make life as hard as possible for the teacher, and have everybody focused on him or her.
This student could literally be calling out his or her teacher every time his or her teacher used a pronoun to refer to the student and say that the appropriate pronoun is "they" at the moment. The moment the teacher gets frustrated, the student files a complaint. The moment another student makes a comment, there's a complaint filed.
If you have faith that public schools are equipped to make distinctions between kids abusing a policy and kids who are actually going through something, it's misguided faith. Public schools have been turning themselves to breeding grounds for liberal arts colleges since I was kid. It's just gonna keep getting worse.
The people with power will be the government, the liberal arts colleges, and the asshole kids. The honest kids, the parents, and the country as a whole when we have a generation that enters the workforce that can only talk about gender while barley being able to screw in a lightbulb.
