The PAINS Of Poverty

If you have ever felt the pain of being broke, then you will have to agree with me that it is better to feel pained from working hard to earn living. Well, for those of you who have never experienced such pains congratulations, and i urge you to do all you can to maintain a parallel with poverty.

As for me I have experienced poverty in one form or the other but rather than let it deter me from trying to succeed, I've decided to fight against it with every strength of my youth and you can do same too. After all there is a popular phrase that says, suffer in the days of your youth and reap the pleasurable reward when you are old. But wait a minute! What exactly is poverty?

Poverty Defined

According to Wikipedia, “Poverty is a multifaceted concept, which may include social, economic, and political elements. Absolute poverty, extreme poverty, or destitution refers to the complete lack of the means necessary to meet basic personal needs such as food, clothing and shelter”. That's the Wikipedia definition of poverty but I would like to further buttress on the definition by breaking it down into easily comprehensible terms.

Poverty simply means the inability to purchase things you desire to have. A poverty victim can die from as simple an ailment like malaria fever due to inability to afford the right medication. If you ask me I would say being poor is the worst thing that can happen to anyone.

Little wonder James A. Baldwin said and I quote “ Anyone who has struggled with poverty knows how extremely expensive it is to be poor”.

It is normal to be born poor, but you have no excuse to die poor. So get up and sit-up because without the uncommon favor of GOD, working your ass out is your best route out of poverty.
