It's week 3 already!! Am happy been here..
I chose Flawless Store in Owerri, Nigeria. I wanted to stay nearby, so I walked there to finish my project.
1.Make a polygon and draw the main roads near that site. |

When I arrived at my location, I opened up my app
When this phase opened, I launched into the other phase by clicking "the area/ distance". When it opened, I clicked on the next button just as the arrow points in the image below.
When I clicked on the button I noticed that it automatically took me to the exact location where I stood, the Flawless Store.
I started the task by clicking on "polygon." I created a polygon right where I was. I moved the cursor to each new point until I got the shape I wanted. I didn't want to change it, so I stopped. If you look at my image, you'll see a blue dot; that's the starting point. Then, I saved my work.
I also went further to draw the main roads near the Flawless Store
Here, I have drawn the main roads close to the store.
2.When creating the polygon, at the top, the surface area in hectares (ha) appears and when you draw the road, the distance appears in meters (m). What is the surface area of the polygon you created and how many meters is the road you drew? |

The surface area of the polygon I created was 138,935.307 m²
The road I drew was 4,313.398 m
Customize both the polygon and the road by assigning color, line width and appearance. Everything to your liking. |

I selected the line width, line color and line type. I explored the phase so as to get used to it

4.Create a 200 meter Buffer. |

I started by clicking on the three dots lines above and then this interface below opens.

I clicked on create buffer in step 2 to complete the buffer creation.

I finally clicked on fix length just as seen in step 3
It was very easy for me to create a buffer.
Why did you choose that place and what things are around it?
I picked this location because it's easy to locate. The store is right on the main road and can be seen from any direction.
By easy to locate, I mean it's on a busy road that many people use. The store is large and offers a variety of products, especially sturdy ones. It stands out in the area, and nearby, you can find other shops and a small market. There are also houses around, but the store is in a prime spot.
Is it easy to get there? How can you access it?
I found it really easy to get to. It wasn't hard since it was close to my home, but I still had to walk a bit to reach it.
Looking at the buffer you created, how would you define its area of influence? That is, is it a good commercial or residential area? Is it close to an area with vegetation? Is it a busy area?
The Flawless Store has a defined area of influence. Inside this area, there are major roads and it is near a shopping district.
This indicates that the location is easy to reach and attracts many people and vehicles, which can benefit business activities and more.
