Hello Steemians

This granite rock, found in a fresh water river in N Ontario.
It is very well rounded, and smooth indicating the long
amount of time in a moving river, as well as a perfectly
round hole in it, about an inch deep, and just over an inch
in diameter.
Sometimes called hag stones, or witch stones.
Piddocks a bivalve will burrow into solid rock forming
a hole.

That's pretty cool. FYI there are a group of us congregating around the fridaysrock and rockhound tags, and steemstem just upvoted my amethyst so I guess they are interested too. And for 7 days you can change all but your first tag if you wish.

Did I tell you I'm camera hunting?

Thanks Suze....your pictures are great already...lol
Feel like I should go get a better camera now too...lol
What are you thinking of getting?

lol I'm using an iPad! Some of my photos are with older cameras where I have battery issues now. I think I buy a camera every 10 years.

I was looking at the so-called "bridge" cameras. They're regular/compact cameras with incredible zoom. I started with the Canon SX420 IS and now I'm looking at the smaller Canon SX620 HS under the guidance of a photographer friend. All I really want is better macro and zoom but he checked the specs and told me the tradeoffs and I'm okay with everything. I just have to hold one now.

I got a used Nikon D90..with a 200mm zoom, from Henrys, pretty good deal...lots of options for different lenses for the future.

My friend thought I might want to go the DSLR route but I don't want the fuss or weight. There was a nice one being sold on kijiji in a similar price range. He also thought I might want to get into the post processing more - so far, no! This one is travel camera sized and I'm traveling in the spring. Its video is reasonable too.

Yes, size weight are important when travelling....where are you going?
I'm either going to Vietnam, or canoeing in the Yukon, undecided yet...don't say do both...lol

England and Poland. I just picked up the camera.

I am waiting in anticipation to see some excellent shots Suze.....
