According to reports George Lukas has expressed that he would return to Star Wars if he were given full creative control

George Lukas himself and in the Star Wars fanbase feel that Disney has taken the franchise in the wrong direction. I am inclined to agree. The newest trilogy will never be cannon in my view. If Lucas comes back and has full creative control over Star Wars he should start a new trilogy that totally cancels out what the most recent one has done in terms of plot and character development. For instance the hosnian system is still there and with it the new republic. Obviously the rebel alliance is there and they can still have the first order with its key characters and even still have the Ray, Fin, Poe, Luke, and Hon Solo. But the plot and character development has to be solid. That’s what I would like to see.

The Disney Star Wars trilogy was so badly done in my view. So many scenes in all 3 movies could have been done so much better. Weather its Ray performing tasks that she had no training for and the incompetence of the first order in the first movie or the incompetence of the rebel alliance in the second movie, the whole thing has been one big train wreck. I didn't even see the second or third movies as I couldn't bring myself to do so. I have seen youtubers critiquing the first and second movies, but not the third. I'm not even going to bother. The previews looked decent, but I really think that Lukas needs to get back into it and change things around. I think there was much drama surrounding the 1-3 trilogy which may have been a factor in Lukas selling the rights to Disney, but that was a mistake. I believe there were many political themes in the Disney trilogy that are unacceptable. Politics in general is pretty unacceptable to me and I believe should not come into it, but hopefully things will turn around and a most beloved sci fi universe can be restored to its at least something of its former glory.
