Pada tanggal 31 Januari 2018 terjadi fenomena "Super Blue Blood Moon" yaitu tiga fenomena bulan (supermoon,blue moon,gerhana) akan berlangsung dalam satu waktu,kejadian langka ini terjadi dalam 100 tahun sekali.
Gerhana Bulan Total akan nampak lebih besar karna berada di titik terdekat dengan bumi atau sering di kenal dengan perigee.
Kejadian ini pun di sambut antusias oleh masyarakat, besarnya antusiasme masyarakat di sambut baik oleh sebagian kalangan dengan menyediakan tempat pengamatan bagi masyarakat yang ingin melihat lewat Teleskop walaupun bisa di lihat dengan mata telanjang.
Sebagian kalangan kaum muslimin melaksanakan shalat Sunnah gerhana.
Gerhana langka ini bisa di saksikan di seluruh wilayah Indonesia dengan mata telanjang.
