⚠️ The Secret to the Dish's Soul
Low heat, low heat, low heat!
Plenty of oil, plenty of oil, plenty of oil!
Add lots of minced garlic, lots of minced garlic, lots of minced garlic!
Stir - frying with little oil will make the dish lose its soul!
Ingredients
- One plate of large prawns or large shrimps
- One cup of extra - virgin olive oil
- 1 - 2 heads of garlic
- A small amount of sea salt
- A small amount of black pepper powder
- A small amount of chopped parsley
- A small amount of crushed red pepper
- One segment of lemon
- An appropriate amount of hard bread or baguette
Clean the prawns, peel them, make a slit along the back, and remove the digestive tract. Then add a little sea salt and black pepper powder, and mix well to let the prawns absorb the flavors.
Pour olive oil into a frying pan. Use a generous amount of oil and cook over low heat. While the oil is heating, mince the garlic. When the oil is hot, add the minced garlic to the pan. Stir gently over low heat for 2 minutes until the garlic turns a soft golden color. Control the oil temperature throughout the process; it should not start to smoke.
Put the shrimp into the pan. Cook over medium heat. When the shrimps start to hiss and curl up, turn to low heat and stir - fry them slowly. Turn off the heat when the shrimps are fully cooked.
Add a little salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper, and parsley. Stir gently. Transfer the dish to a plate and squeeze a little lemon juice over it.
When served as an independent dish in a Chinese meal, you can use less oil.
When paired with Western food, refer to the cover: it goes well with ham, baguette, olives, pickles, and Spanish sangria (for the recipe, refer to the one I posted before). Eating them together can relieve greasiness, considering there is quite a bit of oil in this dish!
If you're only having this one dish, it's recommended to use plenty of oil to cover the minced garlic. I've had the home - made version made by Spaniards where whole shrimps are soaked in oil. 🤤 So be sure to use extra - virgin olive oil. Dipping bread in the shrimp - infused oil is delicious!
