Gilbert Gottfried first made his mark in comedy as the original voice of the Aflac duck, but he was also known for his trademark screeching laugh and gruff delivery of jokes about death and bodily functions. Born on November 26, 1955, in Forest Hills, New York, Gottfried got his start in stand-up comedy at age 15, when he moved to Los Angeles to live with an uncle after his parents’ divorce. Shortly thereafter, he became the third generation of comedians in his family when he began performing at The Improv comedy club in Hollywood with fellow teenager Jay Leno.
