Over the course of time, women have been treated as if they were properties to be owned like land or pets . I see people saying they can't allow a lady to be their boss either at offices or or even as the head of the country. Some will even go to to the extent of putting it on social media and all these keeps causing me heartache. I think about why there is such a natural imbalance in the aspect of gender since the whole world knows what the term "gender inequality" means but taking my time,It amazes me how everybody seems to be talking about eradicating gender inequalities, without paying much attention to the two main causes of this problem
Causes of female gender inequality
Religion- Most of our religions preaches gender inequality indirectly, like Christianity which talks about the census of Bethlehem where ladies were not and in the case where Jesus Christ fed 5000 people(remember that the female gender were excluded from this counting), this shows and talk about how irrelevant the female gender was then and which some chronic believers are now basing on even in churches, In Islamic religion also where ladies are often told to cover all their body including their eyes but men are not told to do so and even in mosques the place of women are at the back seats in the mosque. These examples are some of the causes of gender inequality that we don't even take note of.
Culture and Traditions - Some tradition speaks against ladies getting inheritance from their parent and this reduces the value of the feminine gender. In Nigeria as example, some tribe believes that when a man does not have a male child, he is childless and this degrades the value of the female daughters in this house. In Africa, there are some festivals that the female gender are not allowed to watch, this festivals such as 'Oro' in Nigeria is strictly to men which shows how irrelevant the female is to such tribe.
These 2 points are the main causes of gender inequality that I think people don't really take note of and I think if proper attention is given to this points especially in developing countries, there will be an adjustments in this gender imbalance.
