I'm not sure if I meet the requirements of "doesn't have an easy option to get a camera themselves", but that's a matter of the definition of easy.

I've killed myself for years working online because I live in a place where there are no jobs for someone in my field. Despite people saying steemit isn't something good to rely on for income, it's actually the most promising thing I've had for a while to actually get me out of the place I'm living. I've been trying to save up for years to leave, and every time I'm close, something happens that fucks me over and I'm back to square one.

I live in the middle of nowhere, in shitty suburbs, most of my money going to survive in a country where inflation is absolutely insane, and it costs as much to barely squeak by as it does to live a very comfortable existence in many other countries. Income for the majority of jobs isn't proportionally high, however. People in other countries don't seem to understand how you can sit in front of a TV in a nice house, and yet barely have enough for food sometimes.

I'm not destitute. I'm still living, one day at a time. But I don't make enough I can comfortably afford healthcare. I haven't been to a doctor in over 10 years, and honestly, I need to. I don't want to go into why though.

So, here I am, on steemit, putting everything I have into writing, without really wanting to put a bunch of info about myself on the blockchain. Then I take that money, and I put it into my bittrex, and I trade it back and forth, making more and more, and trying to make enough that I can leave.

Before I leave, I feel like I need a camera. I want to document my journey...both for myself and for steemit. Maybe posts with nice photos aren't any more likely to earn than anything else, but it will provide me more content to produce crypto to trade with.

I've always liked taking photos, and I always take extreme effort to frame the shot perfectly. I've been told I take good photos, but honestly, I don't really know. Getting a real camera is a chance to learn just how good I am though, and share my view of the different places I go to with steemit and the world.

I will then use the money I get from those posts to trade cryptocurrencies, as I have been doing, and make enough to live on, and find a place I can be happy. Maybe I'll even eventually make enough that I can start a business or two, and eventually make enough to make my dream of truly changing the world come true. Such a dream will cost more than any Lambo.

So, I can get a camera, and I'm raising the money to do so, but it's not easy. I trade all day, every day, post when I can, and take jobs on the side, all in an effort to get enough to get what I need to get out of this hellhole. If you choose me for the winner of your contest, it will mean that I can leave sooner, and that I can put whatever money I would have spent on a camera body into lenses, and my plane ticket. When I eventually want to upgrade, I'll pay it forward, and find someone else deserving of the camera body next.

I've put more out there about myself in this comment than I am truly comfortable with, so I do hope you pick me, but if you don't, I understand, and I will still get a camera, and still put my everything every day into steemit and trading, so I can pursue my dreams.

So what does photography mean to me? It means not just framing the world and expressing myself through the photos I take, but the possibility for a leg up in my fight to get to a place where I don't feel like I'm living one day at a time.

Your comment is top, and I wish I could give a camera to you too, but well. I can see you will reach the stars in the end and there are so much more than to reach than a camera, while luckily the camera is not the thing standing between you and your success.

Hi apsu,

I'm Lauren :) I'm 22 years old and I'm a university student studying Information Science. I'm an aspiring freelance photographer and I've been taking photos and videos with my point-and-shoot camera for long as I can remember. I finally got my first DSLR when I was 16. I got a Canon t3i with the factory default lens, and I've been using it ever since. Over the years I've invested in two lenses and out of the two, I generally stick with my Canon 50mm f2.8 lens. Because of your generosity, I would like to pay it forward and give away my precious Canon t3i here on steemit as well if I am chosen.

I personally feel like I'm at a time in my life where I should upgrade not only a better camera but a higher quality of photographs as well. Being a student though, I'm not able to have the luxury of buying a new camera. I am humbled to be apart of such a wonderful community here on Steemit where I'm even able to consider the possibility of upgrading my DSLR.

I'm now hoping I wasn't unclear which camera I'm giving out, but it might be because US and EU names for cameras are very different. It seems that the Canon t3i is better than the 500D, as in Europe it's 600D.

They are both still good cameras for their age and I checked out your posts which look really good :)

Hopefully you'll finally manage to do the same as I did and get a big upgrade in the cameras.

This was pretty cool to see. I don't want the camera for myself, because I find my Sony Xperia XZ1 to be more than enough for the photos I take.

However, my girlfriend had to sell her camera a few months ago and I would love to give her this one. She loves photography and she's an excellent (in my opinion) photographer with a really good eye for catching perfect moments. So yeah, that's what I would do.

I am unironically looking for a camera to take pictures of my girlfriend's butt. The most useful thing I could do with the camera is finally learn how to do portraits well. Always sucked at those. With this camera and rubencress tips I could do it.
And maybe to shoot some textures to use in photoshop for my design work.

I love taking pictures. It is a therapy, a way to relax and to express myself. I love capturing the moment, the scenery, etc. I started taking photos back in 6th grade using phones. I used Nokia N95 back then with 5MP camera then switched to Samsung S4 with a better camera of 8MP. Now, I'm using Samsung S7 Edge. It's what I use for my posts in steemit. I never had a DSLR but I always wanted to buy one for myself. I started saving up my SBD. I even mentioned about in on my post about my first cash out last January 4th. My earnings is still not enough to buy a camera. I'm not an expert in using DSLR. I've only tried using one a few times when my friend lend me his camera. I'm eager to learn.

Well, first and foremost @apsu I really want to appreciate you for this. It's a great initiative I must say. Promoting the spirit of generosity on the platform.
I really need that camera and I believe I will get it. I just have that faith.
Why do I need it?
Well, first I am a photographer but I've never owned a camera. I do smartphone photography. I employ my smartphone and I've really been churning out amazing photos. I have a brand UBJ PHOTOGRAPHY .
but I want to go into digital photography. I want to up my game. Sometimes I see amazing photographs on @photocontests blog or @axeman 's blog and I'm challenged. I wish I could produce such photographs. But then again, I know I can. It's because I don't have access to a digital camera. Using a smartphone is really limited because the quality can't be compared to that of a camera.
Again, if I get that camera It will aid me to accompany my steemit posts with quality images and that will add to the aesthetics of my steemit blog.

what photography means to me??
To be quite frankly, I won't go about giving you the definition of photography or whatever from Google or anywhere.
For me photography is passion. It is an art, mostly an obsession to me. It brings out the creativity in a person. It brings out talent. Photography is a way of capturing the beauty of life. Moments so beautiful and precious are caught and paused in time. That's what photography is to me.
It is a preservation of precious timeless moments.

What will I do with the camera??
I think I said something about this in the first question. But I'll still reiterate it.
If I get the camera. I will utilize it to the fullest. I will finally take the digital photography course I have yearned for. I will go into photography professionally. I do it professionally but not on a large scale though.. The camera will help me take it to greater heights.
And just as I said. My steemit posts will be better because I will be putting up quality images on my posts.

So there goes my entry and I believe I will get this.

Please sir, my family is very sick and poor, i have to walk 300 miles each day only to get water. The only thing that would bring a smile to the face of my 6 children (who are all very hungry), would be this camera....

Joking aside, i do have a camera, and this is awesome of you :)
I'm sure it will make some person really happy. Maybe it could even kickstart the youtube/ DTube career of some kid, who knows.
The Canon 6D is awesome, would love to have that. That's the main reason for me not buying EF-s lenses, because i want the ability to upgrade. I hope you find the right person for the camera :)

Hi, @apsu. First of all I want to thank you for your generosity in giving away this camera. I am not a photographer, but my brother is. He is not here on Steemit so if you'll permit I will be the one to speak on his behalf. Depression runs in our blood and I found relief on writing as well as singing. As for my brother, he found relief through photography and art. He was using film camera before but both of his cameras are no longer working. He then started "phonetography" through his s7 edge, but just recently it got broken and is now being fixed. I don't want to hear his dramas and for him to shut up he needed a camera. Thus, I am hoping to win the camera as a gift for him so we can avoid getting a relapse of his depression. Here is a sample of his shot using his film camera before:

This is the very last time I used my canon 500 d, t’was my baby, and the wind blew up and knocked the tripod over smashing her to bits...
I have been struggling along with my iPhone until I can afford another!
I need another camera badly, so that I can continue to take awesome photographs for my steemit posts. I live in such a gorgeous part of the world, and I just love to have my canon with me at all times to capture the beauty in life. I really feel like I have lost my right arm with out it.
My biggest mistake with my last camera was trusting the guy at the camera shop to sell me the right weight tripod... He seemed very disinterested playing a game on his phone the whole time he was serving me!
In retrospect I should have paid more money for a better tripod, but it’s not like I have an endless supply of the folding stuff, nor the crypto stuff!! Keep peddling is the solution!
If you were to find me a worthy candidate, I would be very grateful, but perhaps there is someone more worthy out there too!

To me, photography is a means to express my voice. I tend to be so busy observing the world that I am very quiet. With a camera in hand, I feel I have a way to articulate the way I see the world and then can share that with others. It's such a gift. I use my photography skills now primarily to convey messages of environmentalism. This year has been such a hard one financially though. As an artist, it felt like selling my soul to part with my camera, but I had to. It would mean the world to receive this camera and continue to spread messages of hope in the world through the lens. Thank you.

Thanks for the comment. Environmentalism is a big thing and I would hope people would understand environmental issues wider, especially regarding the harm we are causing to the oceans right now. I'm still going through all the comments to pick the winner, but I wish you will find the methods to find your way through the financial and environmental issues.

The camera itself is not of professional quality and I'm afraid it might be lacking for very serious photography, but it is better than no camera.

Why do you need the camera?
Because who wouldn’t want free stuff? Duh uh? Haha
But honestly though, I’ve been trying out photography for the past year or so and I can’t be asking my parents for money because I’m already 22 and haven’t moved out yet. So, you get it. Hard times. But I still carry my passion on through the lens of my phone. Yeah, I’m a real warrior bro. But yeah, the camera would be a great (and only) addition to my set of equipments.

What does photography mean to you?

Time doesn’t stop and yet we hold the power to manipulate it just for a bit may be. They say live in the moment. What if I wanted to live in A moment? Pictures have been my way of capturing the moments I wanted to last for ever. And photography is what I’ve got in my DNA. My grandfather made portraits of people and he was so famous they say people came from other villages to get their pictures done. (take that Jack)

What would you do with the camera?
I could tell you but then I’d have to kill you???
Well, What does a camera do? Exactly. It satisfies my ego as a photographer and attracts girls.
Also, I plan on adding to the value of the camera with the money I’ve saved and use the camera to the fullest potential and make my skills grow.

Hello @apsu, it's nice of you to be offering this, am not really good with words so I will try as much as possible to explain why I need this camera. Writing isn't my strong suit, So when I joined steemit it was kinda off. One day on my way out I saw this mantis, it was so lifeless yet so beautiful, I just had to take the shoot with my phone (techno k7) it came out beautiful, I was shocked I could do that. I went out another day and took another shoot(thats how it all started), I believe that through photography my words can be heard. I believe that through photography I can put a smile on a face, seeing the smile and shock on people's face each time I show them Shoot I took makes my hearts tempo change. Though am an amateur, I want to be better, I want to do better. I know with this camera I will be better.

You really seem to have an good eye for photography, based on the photos. The quality is not superb, but that's why we usually get better equipment. I could imagine you could do wonders with a proper DSLR and some good lenses.

Wow, still good condition. I loved photography that's one of my passion i always loved to take picture of the sky and nature and animals, but i only used 8 megapixel of my cp camera. Here is one of the sample i took in the morning.

•Photography mean so much to me. It captures different moments, may be dull or happy. By the time you miss someone, you can simply grab your camera and scan the people behind the happiness at that moment. Whenever, I've had a bad day, I just simply scan my pictures to wash away the bad day.
•I need the camera because I don't experienced being able to own a DSLR because simply I can't afford it.. 😅😅 But if given the chance, I will definitely take good care of that like how I take good care of my smartphone, how I take good care of my relationship with other people and how I take good care of my grandmother.

I need this camera because I want to help others have a better financial future.

Sounds too generic? Kindly allow me to explain.

For some time now, I have been thinking of helping a friend who has a startup, locally sourced fabric company. I got interested in helping this friend for by helping their startup company, I'm also helping others. Why? You see, their fabrics are made by locals - people who live in the far side of our country, the Philippines. People who are natives to this country and who live in the some of the poorest regions of this nation. Most of these people have no jobs, lives below minimum wage and have a hard time making it to 3 meals a day.

How exactly will me, being a photographer, help them live a better life?

Marketing!

At the moment, the marketing strategy in my opinion needs a lot of improvement. Firstly, the images they post on social media networks like Instagram, for me, doesn't really catch attention let alone catch the heart of how these natives work.

But being a startup, they don't have budget for a good photographer to be on their team.

By being the man for the job, I'd like to capture better pictures of their products, better image setting and most importantly, capture scenes of how the natives makes the products they sell. These products are gradually making it to the international market. By improving their marketing strategy, I feel that it will also improve the lives of these local fabric makers as well as their families.

wow that's a really kind and selfless thing to do. thumbs up!

Since I'm a child (nope this won't be a tearful story, no worries haha), my mom always told me that I have an eye for good photos.. cause I'm focussing on the small, unregarded things wherever I go. I also love to capture peoples faces when they're not looking - so it's all natural :)
But I never bought a "standalone" camera to make better photos, so I sticked with my smartphone. Everytime when I see a good motive, I tell to myself "I should get a better camera for this.." (my smartphone-camera-colors are so inexpressive, and the focus doesn't work well ._.), but as it takes time to google whats the best camera for my desires that's not too expensive, I've always queued this task to another time in my life..

So I would be very, very happy to have a camera that has already approved to be good, and it would be a great incentive to know that somebody with a great passion used it before and wants me to keep on his work and mabye fit in his footstamps one day, though I'm not familar with all the possibilitys of adjustments yet - cause I never had the opportunity to try it out for myself. :)

Smartphone photography and DSLR photography are still very on different levels. If you won't win this camera (still going through entries), please buy a real standalone camera. It doesn't need to be a DSLR, but a good pocket camera could do too. Usually you can really see the difference, and it can even be an used one.

This way you can really see if it's your thing.

I want to win this great camera because photography seems like a great opportunity to excel in life and with the help of this camera it will make it easier to chase down that passion... i already applied to a photography school, But my major obstacle is that i don't own a camera. well apart from my 8mp camera and i believe that wont do the job. The canon eos 500d will be a great help in making a young man's dream and passion into a reality.
The second reason is that the price of the canon eos 500d in a country like mine, Nigeria, a country where its leaders are apathetic to an entrepreneur's needs. is well above 144,000 naira.
I believe if i win this camera, it will improve my skills greatly as a photographer, The camera's features of wide angle capabilities and superior zoom will be such a great addition to the quality of work that will be attained.
Another reason is that ever since i got on the steemit platform, i have been seeing numerous contest about photography (steemitphotochallenge, colourfulphotography). i know i have no chance of winning any of this with my 8mp camera , so it will be a great achievement if i win this camera, it will make me contribute more to the steemit community, and be a better steemian.

Very kind of you to do this, whoever ends up with it, I hope they appreciate and take pictures that would make you proud!

Why do you need the camera? Honestly, when I think of things I need, I think of clothes, food, housing, that kind of stuff. So I won't sit here and lie to you that I need this camera, but I would absolutely love to have it. My wife and I are expecting our first baby in May and I would love to be able to take better pictures of him/her as they grow. I recently looked at buying one, but quickly realized that the money would be better spent on diapers, baby food, etc.

What does photography mean to you? Photography has always fascinated me because it's a moment in time captured that can never be replicated. Sure, you can get a similar picture, but as soon as time passes us, we can never get it back. Photography let's us take a glimpse back at that moment and remember it forever.

What would you do with the camera? First and foremost, I would take pictures of our new baby and my wife. I would love to make a photo album of our child as they grow, so we can remember those special glimpses in time.

I don't know if that's a winning, worthy response and I haven't looked at the other responses. I hope whoever ends up with it appreciates it as much much as I would and thank you again for such a generous gesture!

One of the best ways to attract quality clients is to have quality pictures to showcase your work both on print and social media.
I have been turned down by many prospective clients just because all I had to show and publish online were pictures taken with my phone (which doesn't really do the job well) and are not convincing.

Well, I only have my Samsung S6 and drone at the moment. They are great at some things but then there are also things that they simply can not do such as take that 'Tilhi' picture. This is where the DSLR would come in handy. I'd like to learn to use an actual camera. I have devoted my life for making videos ever since I was 12 but I have recently started to focus on photography thanks to Steemit. I quickly ran into the realization that my phone just doesn't quite cut it in all aspects when trying to capture a high quality photo.
I am not quite sure what photography means for me but I think it is a way to memorize the good things in life. I am not even a good or a decent phographer but I always like to take pictures of interesting things I see. Beautiful clouds? Better take my drone out. Moose in a forest? Better take my phone out.

I don't have extra thousands to throw around thanks to turning into an adult and having to pay for a car etc. Buying a proper camera isn't the best option for me right now.

And also I live in Finland so the shipping costs would be cheap :)

I would love to win this camera! As of right now I use my Samsung phone for a camera. Ive always wanted a good camera because I love taking pictures. I find beauty in the little things and well a cell phone is not the best at taking close ups! I do have a 3 year old and I just havent been able to save up the money to purchase a nice camera, theres always something going on with a kiddo! Well a separate camera gives you far more quality, but with system cameras like this you might need different lenses for specific kind of photography. But all new is only about learning :)

Well I can tell you, you could do wonders with a DSLR, tripod and maybe a remote control (or someone to take the photos). You can get so much more with photography on gym if you have proper equipment.

I really don't have the best or right words to use to express to you how much your camera would be of use to me, but sincerely I would really appreciate if I am considered fit to have this camera, reason being that since my young age I have had a deep passion for photography, especially especially landscape photography but due to the kind of circumstances I have been born into, that is my parents are not fortunate to help me get one, and the living standard of my country doesn't help situation (I am from Nigeria), so I joined steemit to help get myself a low end camera, still saving just to keep my passion alive, but having this camera from you would mean everything to me right now.

I'm starting up a independent music production partnership for the local music community. It would be great to have a camera in the studio to film promotional videos and take promotional photos for the people involved. Though we are hard workers, we're both students and musicians, so we struggle with our financial situation. We strive to utilise any resources we have available to capture these amazing pieces of art.

That seems real nice! The videos on this camera are though low fps with high quality used, so it might not fit perfectly the need. Maybe still better than nothing, of course ;)

Well, I'm photographer and filmmaker, a venezuelan filmmaker.
Here in Venezuela we have a terrible exchange control, and maybe the worst inflation in the world. Right now the minimum wage is 3 dollars, and of course a good camera costs the regular price abroad. Even the filmmaker salaries are affected: for a commercial filmed in Venezuela, a Director's salary is 150 $ (yes, we are a privileged guild), but even with that is impossible tu buy a camera.
I had a canon 7D, but the sensor started to damage more than a year ago, and now is a big screen with only dead pixels, impossible to fix it. That's the reason I need another camera to continue making my own films and the photography gigs I used to do.

In these days, I was looking for camera for my girlfriend. We opened a Youtube channel for her, and I was planning to spend my money for a new camera. Actually I was planning to gift her Sony's A6000 camera. But as I asked you before, I don't know much about those devices. I just want to use it for Youtube videos. We will take videos for clay tutorials, and if I can get this camera I'm planning to use money that I saved for camera for ads to gain more followers and views on Youtube. I don't want to take them with my phone anymore.
I feel like it's an insult to real photography.
It's an insult to photo cameras.

I want to see and feel the changes occurring when turning the focus and zoom ring. I want to feel their texture, as I brush them with my fingers.
I want to hold the shutter button half way down, waiting for the perfect moment and focus, just to press it down... and hear the sound of the shutter going off.

I want to take beautiful photos.
I want to capture photos of gas station signs glow in the misty darkness of twilight, I want to capture photos of old sheds and how people have modified them. I want to take photos of old neon signs, so rare nowadays; and young souls feeling free at some rock concert.

I want to capture photos of my loved one bonding with our son.
I want to take photos of dust motes dancing, as the morning sunrays caress the room.
I want to capture moments I feel are beautiful.

I hope the camera ends up in the hands of someone who also finds romance and beauty in things most people may not find them in.

So nice of you for doing this giveaway, thank you! :)

Always been interested in photography, but don't have a great camera. I also didn't want to spend a couple hundred bucks for a good camera either, it's a bit much for me.

With the camera I'd finally go out to take pictures of nature, and bring it along when I go on vacations to capture great moments.

My sister would also be able to use it. She recently got into stop motion (she got a clay set last Christmas), so she'll be able to use that instead of it instead of the phone she's currently using.

Bara att du vet, åtminstone i Finland du kan hitta ungefär likadan camera med.. 100-150 euro, i bra skick. Om du betalar 150-250€ du kan hintta någåt ännu bättre - om du köper använda kameran.

Ah visst! Det finns ju begagnat. Tittade och hittade en 500D för sådär 250 euro. Får väl ta ut lite av mina Steem så kan jag kanske köpa den.

Om du bara kan, jag sägar att försöka hitta också Nikon eller andra. Det är bra att se vad man kan få på samma priset och googla t.ex "Canon EOS 500d vs Nikon ???" med oliga modell och se vilken had bästa egenskaper :)

I would love to have this camera. I am a nature lover and amateur photographer at best. I love to take pics but my wife and I only have our phones and both are aging. My galaxy 3 is still a 5 mp camera... still I have taken some great photos with them from time to time. I have shared some photos on steemit in the past. Here is the last photo I shared. It is not that great but its the thought that counts. ;-) I have also been wanting to start doing some video's for dtube. I would guess that this little baby of yours would do a great job at that. I am not that familiar with DSLR cameras although I did use my friends Nikon for a while when we were still living in Hawaii. I got some great stills with it on a tripod. Amazing clarity and the zoom was super nice. I guess what I am saying is that if I sound like a candidate to be a god parent to your baby, then lets make this work. Sometimes things come along for a reason. I need a camera to start making videos and taking pictures of the ever growing population of Bald Eagles that have made a come back here in the Midwest. I would be gentle with your baby as I have a little age under my belt. I don't get to rambunctious anymore and I take care of the few nice things that I do have. My wife and I live a simple and minimal life. I don't ask for anything ever so I feel really weird right now. I guess what you decide is up to you. Either way I hope it goes to a good home or you find a place where it belongs. I understand what it means to have things that are precious to you. Letting them go doesn't always come easy.

I know the limits of phone photography far too well and I'm impressed what you have been able to do with so little.

The transition to "real cameras" is actually a big step, a lot to learn but you can do wonders with some practice. I'm going through all the entries now, but going to bed after I write this comment and continue tomorrow.

Simple and minimal life sounds good. I bought my new camera as used and now I'm giving my old camera away, as I appreciate the fact we don't need to buy everything new. Things should be used till the end as they are planned to last.

I'll pick out the winner by tomorrow and I will announce it then.

Well I could sure use a better camera than what I have which is just a Samsung cell phone and the camera isn't worth much. What would I use it for? Of course, to take pictures to use on articles for Steemit.
I do live in Honduras so I think sending it here would be kind of expensive.

Well I know, the prices are the same even if we live in Europe or in other continents, but the salaries are far less around the world. I have not chosen the winner yet, but I feel sympathy for all of you who live in countries where cameras like this are luxury.

Hello @apsu, my name is Femi and i am posting from Lagos, Nigeria. Feels good to come across this wonderful post and from what i have read, i strongly realise your personality is great.
I've been shooting with Nikon D3200 since i began photography, i shoot mostly portraits and trust me its been great for real.
Though having a great shot doesn't have to be because of the man behind the camera but trust me having a better camera as well, adds greater views to every shot taken.
Photography to me is a hobby, a passion that drives my hope for better future experiences, photography made me more demanded in and out of my environment because of what my subjects, and few client base admire about my photos., photography gives me that challenge to think, to be creative and define something out of nothing, and if you check my blog, you'd see most pictures you find were shot with a crop framed camera.
I honestly need an upgrade, to set up different views for my photos, and i will appreciate it if i get helped with that.

Well you know the secret in this. It seems that your camera is a bit better quality than mine is. I'm glad you have the passion for photography and you seem to be knowing what to do - and how to improve. The camera I'm giving away is a crop frame camera too and that's why I switched till full frame - you can see the difference.

Stay with Nikon, if I could choose now, I might be a Nikon user instead of Canon.

This is a very generous offer from you my man.
Iv got no sob story i'd just like a better camera to start really getting good macro shots. At the moment im using a olympus TG4 and its doing me well but im starting to find the limitations of it.
Anyway heres one of my best pics and i hope whoever gets the camera makes good use of this opportunity.

Wow, that looks really great! It's just a shame I'm not having a macro lens, so with my camera you would need to invest some money to get back into macro photography. You can do wonders already with the TG4 so I'm hoping whatever happens that you'll keep on doing photography.

first of all thank you for this extremely generous giveaway

I am an artist and I want to show my art in the best possible fashion. In the future I would also like to travel the world and capture moments of my travels. At the moment I use phone or I ask a friend to come with his camera. the difference in quality is quite significant.

the problem with asking a friend to take photos is that this makes me dependant on another person. For example more when a week ago I asked him take photos of my 2 latest pieces. He is yet to do so. In that time I am already close to finishing another piece. If I would have a camera it would allow me to make better photos without any help from others. Greater quality photos would increase value of my work and make it more appealing to potential buyers. But most importantly I would have more freedom.

I can't say what photography means to me because I dont think that making a pictures of my art or my dog is enough to make me a photohapher. So instead I will say what my art means to me. I believe that I came to this world with a single mission. To leave it just a tiny bit brighter than I found it. My art is my way of doing that. I also have a selfish goal. I want to carve my name in to history. To be known and remembered for centuries after I die. My art is a tool achieve that immortality. I want to enjoy every moment of my life till the last breath. My art is one of the things that brings complete joy to my life. I am not the most social person but at the same time I share myself with the world by making my art. Most of my works takes more than 100 hours to complete so I believe that I leave a fragment of myself in each piece I make. But at the same time after making that new piece I feel like I just found another piece of me.

So I would use camera as a tool to showcase my art in a more appropriate fashion. and to capture important fragments of my joyful journey of life.

Well you seem tohe be skilled in what you do, just a shame it is very clear what a phone camera and a "real camera" can do.

I am going through entries now and will annouce the winner later. If you win or don't, I would try to get a tripod for camera to be used in art photography. It will be easier to set up for the perfect angles :)
