Grants for Women Entrepreneurs
A few years ago the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative launched a $38 million grant program to give grants to women entrepreneurs. The first CZI WEP summit took place in October, 2018. So far they’ve awarded $20 million to 1,700 women in the US, India and Africa. The average grant is $50,000, and each woman is required to spend at least 10 hours mentoring other women. Another $20 million grant program is the European Women Innovators Challenge. Women entrepreneurs from the EU are invited to apply for grants of up to €100,000 ($114,000 USD) to help commercialize their ideas. The EU program is also run by the EU Commission and has a stronger focus on technology and science.
