Some people are asking if a program aimed at helping at-risk you turn around their bad behavior has gone too far.
My Reaction:
Where's restorative justice in all of that? Placing intense trauma to these kids through cursing, emotional abuse and physical harassment, will not deter them from becoming a hardened criminal in the near future... it only gives them more reason to become one. For the petty crimes committed, this intervention program really went too far. A rehabilitative and child-centered approach would have been humane and proper. Intervention programs are supposed to enhance a child's psychological, emotional and psycho-social well-being; not to destroy the child's hopes of reforming and re-integrating back to society.
