The winner of the Giving Steem logo competition is @nirado

Congratulations!

The two runner ups were @penguinpablo and @artwatch. edit - naturally, I sent the rewards before I posted :)

Thank you very much to everyone who participated. The designs were really superb and I had a hard time selecting the winner and places.

I hope you agree, baring the question of personal taste, that the winner's design will do the job admirably.

I inserted all the designs into different images to test them out and I thought you might like to see them in place. Please bear in mind that some were not designed to be as small as they are and many had a background which I attempted to remove. I think they are a fantastic set of logos.

What's next?

My plan is to put nirado's logo on all my posts as an indicator of the Giving Steem initiative in action. All my posts will be set to 50/50 and all SBD post rewards will donated to help people in difficulty.

For more information please read...

https://steemit.com/giving-steem/@benjojo/giving-steem

Once I've started donating, my intention is to post a summary of what has gone out, to whom and for what purpose.

I will use artwatch's beautiful design with its original background as the main image to these posts.

I really hope more Steemians will use the Giving Steem logo and adopt some kind of formal approach to helping Steemians and others in need. These efforts may be the precursor to a revolution in how we implement charity and insure one and other against calamity.

I especially hope that those benefiting the most from Steemit presently will consider investing some of their resources into their fellow Steemians directly.

Thank you again to all of you who took part in the logo competition, your creativity was an absolute pleasure to witness.

Happy Steeming

edit - I forgot to include that the steem part of the rewards for this post will be split between every artist who's logo features in this post equally.

Beautiful! I will use it when it fits the post, thank you for the competition. Brings some good value to STEEM.

The hi-res images can be found here: https://steemit.com/giving-steem/@benjojo/giving-steem-logo-competition
(Would there be other original file formats available?)

I also like @nirado 's logo best (tough decission though). Although I'm a bit too perfectionist maybe. I'd like to have it a bit reworked and a bit cleaner and smoother in edges and curves, speaking mainly about the 3 fingers, better integrated to form a hand, yet still visible as the STEEM logo. The proportions of the fingers don't match the thumb size. Anyway, kudos to all contestants, I couldn't have done any of this :D

That's very good feedback and actually it would be great to have the winning logo fine-tuned (though almost exatly as is) just so it can be shrunk down etc. I will contact @nirado to see what can be done.

Thumbs up : ) I was just thinking about one additon. How would it look like with a white outline around the logo? With dark colored images the logo dissappears. Like you realized as well when doing the top image and later using an image with lighter background.

Really good point. I think I need to commission @nirado to do a complete pack so that there are a set of finished, really high res logos for any size any colour image available to anyone who wants to take up this initiative. Thanks so much for the valuable feedback.

Good point, I can send nirado a few 100% upvotes on his posts to contribute : )

we can use steem for Better Society

Definitely!

So many awesome entries ! Love them

I completely agree.

Thank you for selecting my logo as runner up :)
Good choice to award the first prize to @nirado. A clear and simple logo. Nice!

Congratulation @penguinpablo

My pleasure and thank you so much for your support.

Those pictures are awesome! Great!

great competition and i reckon giving is better than receiving - good value

Thank you.....the artists smashed it.

i just posted one the paintings done with my wife - your welcome to come and see it if you wish

Yeah i like the muddied hand with the STEEM handshape logo the best although the 3rd photo with the STEEM shaped coin in the hand is good as well.

In all honesty, I liked several very much. It was a difficult choice.

congrats for the winner. lovely logos all of you. . 🙌🙌🙌🙌

What a community. This is really powerful what happens here. Thank you for all the effort. The logo looks great.

You are being followed by a coin puppet!

Please follow it back ;)

Thank you so much! Sorry my response was a bit late, I don't know how I missed it!!

Thanks so much for the contest and enjoying my design. I really do appreciate your support.
here it is with a subtle artwatch in the corner as talked about in chat.

Thank you once more and I look forward to helping you again down the line if you ever need.

Fantastic! The whole thing has been an absolute pleasure and I just can't wait for the next chance to collaborate. Your design is just beautiful, thank you.

Following and looking forward to future posts from you @benjojo.

just seen this, how wonderful is this community to push all those entries to you? absolutely brilliant! :)

Totally. I was flabbergasted! There are so many talented artists here, the future looks very promising in that regard. Imagine what pure, sustained, creativity may unleash?!

i'm aiming to build a creative retreat somewhere in europe hopefully that contain some of those steemians! :)

I can picture it now....mountains, forests, a complex of small cabins set carefully into the natural folds and surrounding a larger communal cabin for feasts, lectures and group sessions. Dreamy. Please excuse my enthusiasm....you probably had something completely different in mind! :)

Certainly not, it's a part of our conversation!

Thank you for your kindness. :)
