Bitcoin Offers Privacy, but Costs You Anonymity

in gjdkhls •  last year

Bitcoin is a digital currency. It allows you to send and receive money without the need for an intermediary like a bank or other financial institution.

Bitcoin is also anonymous and private, but it is not completely anonymous. The Bitcoin blockchain records all transactions, which means anyone can tell who has how many bitcoins at any given time.

However, you can use Bitcoin on the Internet anonymously. You are not required to use your real name when logging in or making purchases with your bitcoins. You don't even need to give your address unless you want people to know where they can send the bitcoins they received from you.
