SEC objects to XRP holders aiding Ripple defense

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is trying to block XRP holders from helping Ripple's defense, and attorney John E. Banning Dayton from participating in any further activities.

In his official objection submitted on July 19, controlling attorney John E. Along with Deaton opposed the decision to recognize 1,746 XRP holders as amici curiae.

Amici (plural: amici curiae) means friend of the court A person or organization not a party to a legal case but allowed to assist the court by providing information, expertise or insight. In this case, in support of Ripple's defense.
