The blessed life: Joyful and glad of heart for the prosperity that the LORD had granted to David and to Solomon

The blessed life brings with it important spiritual gifts; but we cannot be blessed simply by leading a life of appearances, blessedness is something deeper, it is the same blessing of God granted to men when men follow his law and his ways: "But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him" Jeremiah 17:7.
King David had completed the conquest of Canaan that began with Joshua, establishing Jerusalem as the capital, and then it was left to Solomon to complete the project of the temple of Jerusalem. This is how the Bible describes that time: "SOLOMON reigned during an era of peace, for God brought rest to all his borders. He built a house to the name of God, and established a lasting sanctuary" Ben Sira 47:13.
David and Solomon served God from the heart, seeking wisdom in all their actions, and the Lord blessed them, when the good is wanted, the good comes: "Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers" Proverbs 16:20.
And what the Bible explains to us is something very important, because common and simple people proceed by imitation; when there are wise kings and they establish good customs and institute justice, the people follow them and adopt what is good. The beatitude is poured out through the good example.
And the culmination of all that wisdom of Israel at that time was the first temple in Jerusalem. The Bible tells us how God awarded with great prosperity, joy and happiness, to the kings of Israel, David and Solomon and all their people with the completion of the temple in Jerusalem: "He sent the people away to their homes, joyful and glad of heart for the prosperity that the LORD had granted to David and to Solomon and to Israel his people" 2 Chronicles 7:10.
The Kingdom of Israel reach, with these kings devoted to God and his Law, to its maximum splendor, never again would so much glory be seen for the kingdom of Israel.
