Bound Balloon Dog- Flameworked Glass. 2018
To me, this piece sings a sad tale of being a slave to your own emotions. Much darker than my normal work, this piece takes a bright happy expansive object like a balloon animal- and tightly binds it with a suffocating membrane of “latex”; Buldging at the seems of the zippers that hold it in, the balloon animal, normally happy and cheerful, is stuck under its own deep dark pressure.
