These tiny bat like creatures didn't last long, only a few million years. However, they are still exciting finds as they are making researchers and scientist rethink what they know about the evolution of birds. Going all the way back to the late jurassic period of the dinosaurs makes these finds 150 million years old. They were alive before the earliest birds. We are perhaps getting closer to the link between avian dinosaurs (birds) and non avian dinosaurs (non flying dinosaurs). Its very exciting for the paleontology world either way.
