Hello @themarkymark, I very well acknowledge the usefulness of your Global Blacklist API as it will prevent abuse and fraud on the Steem blockchain. It's a noble project which should be supported by as many people as possible who have the interest of Steem at heart.
However, there a few persons on your blacklist whose reason for being on that blacklist has become quite irrelevant and now deserve a review. How do I mean? Permit me to explain.
There are a few persons on your Blacklist API who got there in the days of the old steem for bot abuse. They were, at that time, added for the right reason - as the blacklist prevented such persons from using your bot, Buildawhale.
Now, we are in the days of the New Steem where downvotes exist to fight bot abuse, where even the use of bots have become very unfashionable if not moribund. This keeps me wondering why those whom you blacklisted in those days for bot abuse still remain on the Global Blacklist API. Can they still abuse the bots now given the downvotes army in town? The answer is NO and rightly so. Therefore, it is only fair to grant amnesty to such affected users. By so doing, your Global Blacklist API will get the much needed credibility. In this case, my good friend @Majes.tytyty is a victim alongside several others.
You could mandate the victims to burn some amount of Steem as a fine for getting on the blacklist in the first place. That should be fair enough, portraying your blacklist API as just, fair, reasonable, and credible, which I believe are your intentions.
Ps: I am not speaking for fraudsters, for plagiarists, spammers, etc but erstwhile bot abusers. If the very creators of the bots, such as yourself, are walking free (even as witnesses) then every other person who interacted with it deserves to live as free men too.
Thanks sir.

As I am still clueless about all the things going on right now on steemit, so forgive me if I don't really understand how this "blacklist" thing works. However, I decided to pass by and leave a comment here because I know James (@majes.tytyty). He has been supporting me and many other steemians during hard time of Steemit. not just upvote us to reward our content but also encourage us to stay and contribute more to this platform. He has always been active by posting his unique content even in the time most people decided to leave. I have known him since my early day on steemit, and I believe that he doesn't deserve that red mark (of being blacklisted) beside his name.
Thanks @gandhibaba for saying all the things that I and many others want to say.

Hi would like to confirm, that @majes.tytyty is a valuable member of our community and he has been very helpful and supportive towards the others.
I wonder if there is any procedure allowing users to remove their name from blacklist - it should be necessary to add such an option.

You have made a very solid point. I really appreciate your effort towards cleaning the steem ecosystem, this is amazing. This is a great step to curb spam and abusers i have known @majes.tytyty for a while now and he has been abiding by rules since i knew him. Is there a way he can be whitelisted from the blacklist?

Hi @gandhibaba
You ask the right questions, it should be cleaned up

Attention: @themarkymark
I support the point raised by @gandhibaba. A source for the goose is a source for the gander. A punishment such as this should be fair within the labryinth of truth and justice. You can't be a benefactor of the abuse and walk freely while others bear the brunt. It is my humble advise that your decision to blacklist @majes.tytyty should be reversed and a penalty of fine awarded instead (if need be). A whole new system has emerged and as such whole new approaches are needed. It is irrelevant to apply old metrics to the realities of the present when those who bear the wound of the old are now aware of the transformation and are ready to work according to it. The solution to counter bot abuse has been provided by a downvote army. This is my humble plea. If this is done, your blacklist API will receive a mass patronage of support in the blockchain.

This is undoubtedly a very important project, more so if we consider that there are many people who have carried out plagiarism, spam, among other actions that are detrimental to the old and new Steemit. However, the point made by @gandhibaba is certainly something to consider. It is not possible to continue to justify today with old laws or rules that do not go hand in hand with context.
Just as in the real world there are ways to clean the name, in steemit it should not be something that is omitted. The use of bots was something that was done at some point in the history of steemit, now penalized with negative votes, so very few use it. And that's what making changes for the good of the community at large is all about.
Very good your work in gathering that blacklist, however it would be good to review it and pass it through "filters " that correspond to the new Steemit, the case of the friend @majes.tyty is a good example for that. Thank you very much @themarkymark for the attention you are sure to give to this matter and the possible solutions you can offer.

Dear @themarkymark
Is there any tool out there which would allow to double check if some particular account is on this global blacklist? And even more importantly: is there any official way of contacting person who manage that blacklist in order to remove username from it's list?
Let's say that someone got on that list (many new users may do things that will end up with them being blacklisted) and then such a user would change his posting behaviours and would like to continue adventure with steem blockchain (by being removed from the blacklist in the first place). How can it be done?
My good friend @majes.tytyty has been placed on blacklist (@gandhibaba) mentioned about it and we're wondering what could we do about it? Your help would be very appreciated.
It seem that this page isn't working :(
Yours, Piotr

Hello appreciated @themarkymark.
Using its wonderful API I could get this result:
What we must understand from this result is that our great and respected friend @majes.tytyty is included in the blacklist of @buildawhale.
I also understand that your API only queries existing blacklists in the steem ecosystem. Therefore you have no responsibility for the inclusion or removal of any user in the different lists.
I find the API created by you very useful. It is certainly a great tool that will help a lot to keep the environment clean on the Steem Blockchain. I congratulate you.
Therefore, my next step will be to try to contact @buildawhale to try to reconcile with them a solution to the situation that is affecting a valuable user of our community, who has only been dedicated to offering original, didactic and extremely valuable content.
I recommend to my friends @crypto.piotr, @gandhibaba, @lanzjoseg, @fucho84, @jadams2k18, @kebieri123, @xpilar, @josevas217, @ben-edom, @pedrobrito2004 that we try to contact @buildawhale.
Your friend, Juan.

@juanmolina, @themarkymark runs and owns the @buildawhale account so we are already contacting the right person. Thanks for your input. Let's hope that @themarkymark reconsiders his stance. Cheers!

Oh yeah?
Thanks for the info.
Then Mr. @themarkymark should update his blacklist.
Since he are offering it for the entire platform to use as a tool, he should ensure that offer a reliable product in all aspects.
Just having @majes.tytyty included in that list is already an indication that the list is wrong. In addition we can assume that it also unfairly includes other users.

Yes, I agree that you didn't add @Majes.tytyty to the list by mistake. What we all are saying is that his presence on your blacklist should be reconsidered because bot abuse is no longer possible under the NEW Steem. His continued presence on that list could mean that you have something personal against him, which I doubt is the case. Thanks.

@themarkymark can you please respond to the important points raised by myself and the other commenters here? Can you please remove @majes.tytyty from your blacklist? If not, can you explain to us why you can't remove him? Each of your comment on this post has not addressed the many questions begging for answers. Can you please act as a top and respected witness of Steem that you are. Thanks.

Does it mean that you have reconsidered and excluded our respected friend from the list?
Hopefully you have done it. Please appreciated @themarkymark, would you study the case of @majes.tytyty? I am sure you will find reasons to exclude it from the list.
Thank you for your time and for considering attending our call.

Hello, I saw the mention and went on to find out what was happening, well, I already found out and I was also asking in other comments to consider the possibility of removing a person from the blacklist, I still have to wait for an answer to the request I make by @majes.tytyty both in the @buildawhale account and in the @themarkymark account.

Hi @themarkymark I'm new to Steemit but delighted to see efforts like this one you are engaged in, trying to help clean up the blockchain. We need guardians like you and the others you outline in the post. I'm sure you take a lot of shit at times but your role is vital in defending the chain from predators who are more than happy to scam others and destabilise the chain.

I want to congratulate your contribution to the Steem community and also congratulate that recently @steempeak implemented your API for its interface.
I also see comments on a particular case, the one of @majes.tytyty, it happens that I have interacted with this usurium, he gave me good advice and supported me when I was starting on Steem, I have no idea what led him to be on a blacklist, but I was really surprised, I checked his profile and saw that he was yes:
Then I clicked on the red number and saw which list is included:
Well, I guess I'll have to check with @buildawhale and raise my opinion on that account.
