Current Surface Mass Budget of the Greenland Ice Sheet

Here you can follow the daily surface mass balance on the Greenland Ice Sheet. The snow and ice model from one of DMI’s climate models is driven every six hours with snowfall, sunlight and other parameters from a research weather model for Greenland, Hirlam-Newsnow. We can thereby calculate the melting energy, refreezing of melt water and sublimation (snow that evaporates without melting first). The result of this is a change in the snow and ice from one day to the next and this change is shown below. All numbers are in water equivalent, that is, the amount of water the snow and ice would correspond to if it was melted.

The model has been updated in 2014 to better account for meltwater refreezing in the snow, and again in 2015 to account for the lower reflectivity of sunlight in bare ice than in snow. The update means that the new maps, values and curves will deviate from the previous ones. Everything shown on this site, however, is calculated with this new model, so that all curves and values are comparable.

I don't know if climate change is man made or not but it sure is happening. Look I was raised in a town in Northeastern Honduras called Olanchito, during March the weather there is normally 95-100 fahrenheit, I went there for 8 days last week and we had temperatures down to 58 fahrenheit, I had never felt that kind of cold except in December and January, so yes something is happening with the weather.

Just a cold snap.
Just weather.
Nothing to worry about.
It''s only climate change if it gets hot.

Ok, look I'll tell you an anecdote when hurricane Mitch hit Honduras in 1998, at a Dole banana plantation office, some guys weren't up to date with the news, so when the storm started building up and the sky started getting cloudy people started getting worried, but one guy said, oh don't worry it's just a crazy cloud, well Mitch was here for 5 days destroyed about half of the country, incidentally that guy is still called Nube Loca (crazy cloud) to this day.
As for the when it gets hot, it is getting hotter, only in a freakish manner it's hot when it should be cold, maybe what is happening is a polar shift, now remember I'm talking about a town where weather hitting 110-120 degrees is not so rare and yet you have heavy fog in the early hours and during the day you have dust devils.
In fact Everrit as you are a contrarian you'd probably like it, the weather goes against logic.

the weather goes against logic.
BINGO!
Weather is a chaotic system. It is MUCH too complex for us to understand fully at this time. It is beyond the capability of our largest, fastest computers to predict what will happen next week...much less next year or next decade.
