The blessed life: "For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man", Romans 7:22

Paul in his letter to the Romans speaks of the inner man who recognizes the law of God, the law of the spirit, given by our Lord Jesus Christ: "For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man", Romans 7:22.
It must be recognized that when Paul speaks to us of the law of God, he does not speak of the ten commandments, but of the love of charity, the highest spiritual gift: "Charity is patient, charity is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self- seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs", 1 Corinthians 13:4.
The goal of the spiritual life, the blessed life is not to comply with a series of religious precepts or imperatives but to achieve the likeness of God: "Because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." Romans 5:5

The inward man is the man born of the new leaven, the leaven of the word of God; the kingdom of god resembles yeast in the sense that it is incremental, progressive, edifying. Those who are born from above, from the water and from the spirit, are not those who comply with the law but those who listen and live the word of God, that is those who acquire wisdom, retain it and put it into practice, as explain the parable of the sower. The word of God is the knowledge of the correct means to live.
The kingdom of God is way, truth and life (John 14:6). It is the way because we grow, we edify by living the gifts, piety and mercy are lived. The kingdom of God is truth because we are precise and accurate; and when the truth is not enough the kingdom of God is life. Moses' law is neither progressive nor edifying, when we comply with the commandments we are neither precise nor accurate.
