I would like to introduce you to a very beautiful song called "From a Distance". It was written way back in 1985 by Julie Gold and I like the version sung by Better Midler. It is just a beautiful song and it reminds me about we are all here doing our thinking forgetting that God is watching over us. He is watching over everything good and bad that goes around us.
If you would like to watch the music video, I have shared the Youtube link down below.
This song reminds me also about the wars that goes around us due to racial issue. It is a sad thing that in this generation we still struggle with it. Not only does it happens to the black but also many other skin colour around the world. Should I say it is a skin colour problem or an ethnic problem?
Up until this day, people are still being discriminated, not just for their skin colour but for their ethnic background. And it is a sad thing to watch. We think it is about skin colour but I think it is much more than just skin colour. I think skin colour is about acceptance in society. From childhood, we have been programmed to believe that fair skin colour is beautiful and darker skin colour is not so attractive.
Where-else ethnic has a more deeper conditioning to us. We somehow subconsciously tend to be more biased towards the same ethnic group as compared to a different ethic group. We tend to get closer to them quickly and easily because of the same way of thinking and beliefs. Somehow we are more likely to stand up for a same ethic group rather than a totally different ethnic group. Maybe this is also part of our conditioning which we are more closer to people whom we are more familiar with.
There may also be prejudice towards another ethnic group due to their history of violence or crime. Although that person may not be a bad person but somehow there is this belief and fear that they might be. And it is sad because every human being is different and special in God eyes.
