After yesterday's losing spree, I foolishly decided to give it another try today.
It has become very clear that without buying/investing lots of money in cards, it's impossible to compete at this point. Not enough players/only stacked decks. It's unfortunately very discouraging, and new players and interest is needed, or this game will die off sooner rather than later in my opinion.
Anyways,
all you need is this fine deck, which I unironically find very appealing :D
Other than that I'm down to S, and losing even more. So I'm not really motivated to play anymore :(
What's your opinion on the current state of the game? How does your deck compete and how much did you invest in it?

All six of the starter decks are viable decks to play with. They are completely free and you don't have to pay a penny.
The playerbase is relatively small at the moment, so it's likely that you are running into more experienced player regularly. And there is no shame in moving up and down the ranks as you play. Especially if you are trying out new decks. I was Mythic last weekend, Midnight Shadow yesterday, and Solar Gold today.
I made some videos about a month ago playing the starter decks and talking about gameplay strategy. You can see them on YouTube if you're interested.
