The earth is rapidly running out of room, my story our responsiblilty.

In recent past it has been greatly noted that a substantial share of the world's cropland is losing top soil at the rate that exceeds natural formation due to our negative activities on it such as poor agricultural practices, deforestation, pollution, industrialization etc.
Until recently, concerns about the earth's capacity to feed the ever-growing numbers of people adequately was confined largely to the environment and population, communities and a few scientists.
During the 1990's, these issues aroused the concerns of the mainstream scientific community. In 1992, the US National Academy of sciences and the Royal society of London issued a report that stated '' if current predictions of population growth proves accurate and patterns of human activities remain on the planet remain uncheck, science and technology may not be able to prevent either the irreversible degradation of the environment or continued poverty for much of the world''. This has greatly led to soil degradation( due to poor farming practices such shifting cultivation, slash and burn, ) deforestation, environmental pollution, biodiversity loss, droughts, famine etc.
As such various governments needs to steep up their and go beyond to ensure the enforcement of policies that will ensure sustainability in all our activities. Likewise, we too should always be cautious of the impact of our activities on our natural environment, support environmental education activities, and through steemit we can impact our own quota for really it is running out of room chased by you and me.
Julius Nyerere, the former Tanzanian president once said '' the most powerful contraceptive is the knowledge that your children will survive '', thus relating to sustainability.
