What it'll take to raise New Orleans-area levees: $3.2 billion, 50-year plan, Corps says

When the post-Katrina levee system was built, at a cost of $14.6 billion, Congress did not include authorization of federal-state cost sharing for elevating the levees to keep up with subsidence and sea level rise.

Interesting article about what it will take to raise the levees around New Orleans. Including what was already spent after Katrina, they're talking about spending close to $20 billion, that's a lot of money. I wonder what the taxpayers in the other part of the country thinks about his money going to a levee around New Orleans. Doesn't really seem fair to me.....
