in gokyo •  8 months ago

Gokyo Lake is a series of high-altitude lakes located in the Solukhumbu District of Nepal. They are situated at an altitude of about 4,700–5,000 meters (15,400–16,400 feet) in the Gokyo Valley, which is part of the Sagarmatha National Park. The lakes are known for their stunning turquoise color and are considered sacred by both Hindus and Buddhists.

The Gokyo Lakes are a popular destination for trekkers and are part of the Gokyo Ri trek, which offers breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. The main Gokyo Lake, known as Dudh Pokhari, is the third lake in the series and the most frequently visited by trekkers.

Would you like to know more about trekking routes, best times to visit, or specific details about the lakes?
