While I love investing in crypto currencies, there is another currency that is performing very well in 2016. This is real money that can not be printed by a central bank or created out of thin air. It must be mined, similar to bitcoin, and there is a finite supply.
So far in 2016, the gold price is up 25% and silver is up nearly 50%. Better yet, mining stocks (GDX) are up over 100%. Some of the top performing gold and silver stocks on the Toronto Stock Exchange are up over 1,000% year to date in 2016!
