Gold coin – 90 years since the publication of Craii’s novel of the old courtyard

The characteristics of the coin are the following:

metal: gold;
face value: 100 lei;
title: 900 ‰;
round shape;
diameter: 21 mm;
weight: 6.452 g;
quality: proof;
cant: jagged.
The obverse of the coin shows a composition representing Bucharest in the period when the action of the novel Craii de Curtea-Veche takes place, the inscription in a circle arch “ROMANIA”, the coat of arms of Romania, the year of issue “2019” and the nominal value “100 LEI”.

The reverse presents the portrait and the name of the writer Mateiu Ion Caragiale, the circular inscription “CRAII DE CURTEA-VECHE” and the year of the first publication of the novel “1929”.

The gold coin is packed in transparent methacrylate capsules. The coin is accompanied by the presentation brochure written in Romanian, English and French.

The booklet includes the certificate of authenticity of the issue, which contains the signatures of the BNR governor and the central cashier.

The maximum circulation for this issue is 250 gold coins.
