Accept something you cannot change

And you'll feel better... At least that is what it said on the piece of paper in a fortune cookie. Just a few hours after TAO forced me to face some personal challenges, it seemed that I was not the only one looking for solutions. Some Steem accounts got robbed and the whole gloom and doom started off. Oh Ye of little faith, come on keep it real! Face facts with some dignity. Luckily this cold fire did not spread. And that would have been out off proportion. It was just a small breach that was exploited, browserbased and fixed quite fast by the Steem dream Team.

Hardfork 9 {HF9} is coming about in a few hours time. And if you want to have a look in the realm of developement you can have a go at the Steem Github spot. There is this forum called 'issues' but it's more than just that to it. And if you want to know what the comming hard-fork is going to change, have a look at the 'red' marked 'hardfork' items. They show real fast developement and challenge solving. Kudos the way the team handled this little setback. Rise, like a Phoenix from the flames, Steem will become even more solid, almost like a diamond. Or Graphene?

It is worthwhile having a look into the code that is Steem, the motor under SteemIt. The HF9 code shows that the breached accounts are getting refunded and the 'issues' forum shows that Steem is getting SIP. For more safety and account recovery. Have to state here, that like I wrote somewhere before, I don't 'C' that well, more like a geek, instead of a nerd, but I love the clearness of the Steem coding. So, it can be done more human readable. Lot's of comments clearing up what it is all about. Even how the whole concept of Steem is working can be grasped more from reading some of the source code, mainly the constants helped a lot. Made me "Aha, I see", a lot. Again kudos to the team behind Steem, Bitshares and Graphene.

The open Steem road ahead

Making it possible to Power Up Steem after a week. Open for debate. Would be nice if this got implemented, I think... More of that sort of automation, based on a weekly cycle, or even monthly based, quarterly and so forth. If any platform is able to implement this, it is Steem (Graphene).

Making sure that the creator of an account is the owner. This might sound double, but it will secure Steem and the accounts. It is an enhancement that will keep funds in the wallets of those who plucked the FOW. And it does more. Selling accounts will be harder, but easier to distinguish from cracking. So, safety first!

From 'winner takes all' to a more equity system. Now this is a challenge that seems to be on tweak due to usage. Trial and error, maybe, to some point. The math behind it could be very complex. But complexity needs calculations, that might take up to many resources, I guess. It is a delicate balance that the developement team of Steem are looking for. And this might change from fork to fork.

Sometimes the reward system does seem to have strange side effects. But that's the magic of math and chaos. There are some more changes coming, one related to SIP / MultiSig, is an Escrow service for example. Also on the market trade there could come some changes on 'self' trading. But that is yet something I still have to dive into. So, down the rabbithole some more. All in good time though.

Introducing SteemerMan

Along came SteemerMan

Great times ahead dear fellow Steemer! And this surely will do good to the value of Steem soon too. And while I was blogging at Slick dot CF about SteemIt, an accidental creative birth came about. And there he was: "SteemerMan, does all the things a Steemer can!" Yes, I have these weird link to very bad songs from SF series and movies. So now I do have two accounts at SteemIt. Decided to make a seperate one for SteemerMan, just like reserving a domain, when there is only just an idea. The proces of creation. Do not yet know how I will implement this in my SteemIt activity. But I'm experimenting with Piston, the Swiss Army Knive for Steem and programming some in PureBasic, along that. No real nerd stuff, but just what a geek like me thinks could be handy.

And also I want to do some experimenting with PhareSim's JavaScript Library. Again, a warning for the rise of any false expectation here, it is almost at the level of a complete and utter noob. It gives me a way to have a complete different approach to things. PhareSim is developing some cool fork of Steem by the way. Where Muse is almost like the Steem for musicians and the like. PhareSim is doing something like that for the science world. Publishing scientific papers, the Steem way... Maybe something that SteemerMan would have a deeper look into? We'll see.

Steem it up!

So with the Hardfork 9 coming up, some exciting new things are up ahead for Steem and it's community. Steady on 3 at the Coin Market Capacity list closing in on Ethereum fast. And some even whisper the dying of the King Bitcoin has started. So Steem is going to be the new King? Better not stare for too long into my crystal ball and just leaving it at there are changes ahead and they will be good ones!
