We have ordered Paydirt - 1-2 lbs of dirt with real gold (fines and nuggets) from GoldBay for around $45. They mail you a bag of dirt and you pan them with a small pan and some water. There is usually $45 (1 gram) of gold in each bag. it is a great way to learn how to pan for gold so that you are ready to head out in the spring to the rivers in your area where there is sometimes small amounts of placer gold hiding on the bedrock.

panned in Wyoming once but not much to show for it. There are supposed to be some spots south of Montreal

Yea panning is fun, we go up to spots in the central Sierra Nevada Mountian range and work with other gold diggers, hehe its super fun, i have enjoyed a few good trips over the years and found some nice pickers here and there. I would say give it a try, i also love the camping experience we usally get when we go on one of these outings. Nice post enjoy that gold fever. 👍😉🎖 @offgridlife
