Although the sun had disappeared, the night sky continued its dynamic display of color and movement.

Calm, still, and quiet 

The evening was calm. In the late twilight, the city became still and quiet. Only a few vague hints of color remained.

Burn, spin, roil

The sun had slipped behind the western hills, and darkness had descended over the city. But the light that continued to stream into the skies above showed that powerful and dynamic natural forces remained in play.

The sun continued its fiery activity, the globe continued to spin, and the atmosphere continued to roil and churn. But down here, there was peace and quiet.  Location – Chiang Mai, on Google Maps
