Swan's Lake

in goldenhourphotography •  6 years ago

Although it sounds nice, that's not the actual name of the lake.

When I came to close, the male swan made a pretty clear statement with hissing, that I should back away, and that this is his territory.

So I did back away, and left them continue with their evening cleaning ritual…

The shot was taken at Mrzla Vodica lake, in Gorski Kotar region, Croatia.

It's a beautiful shot. No sign of the hissing. I've heard swans can be quite nasty if you get too close when they don't want you to. When I was a kid there were geese at our school that terrorised us! :D

hahaha
The geese terrorist :)
And yes, the swan was quite intimidating. Standing his ground and hissing like some devilish snake :)

Ha ha a swan in an identity crisis.

Very nice shot and I like the way you choose to edit it. Very clean and soft, looks like a postal card. I like it!

Thanks.
I played with toning of the highlights and shadows in Lightroom...
