Budva Citadel in sunset rays

in goldenhourphotography •  7 years ago

Most of my time I spend working. Working as a freelancer-designer, as well as supplementing my large online-portfolio of images and materials for design on numerous sites for the sale of relevant content, I spend a very long time on this. Also in the current period, the theme of social networks focused on blockchain and crypto-currencies, too, has fascinated me and now every day bites off a solid chunk of my time and resources.

And this working activity requires periodic rest away from the workplace. Here where we stay at the moment, monthly visa-runs to nearest countries come to our aid, which we need to do to, people who have a Russian passport and who live in Montenegro. But besides that, sometimes you just want to jump off and go somewhere, to a new place in the neighborhood. And in one of such impulses we visited the city of Budva, an hour's drive by car, by the sea.

In general, the place seemed to me quite interesting, although even in the off-season it is clear how busy this city can be during hot tourist time. Here I liked the beaches, the city embankment that goes along the sea and on which there are many restaurants, cafes and bars; as well as the old city, a place that personally seems to me absolutely chic and authentic. And in the old city - Citadel. To visit the Citadel, I'd recommend if you are in Budva and do not want to save money on everything - entrance is not free (unfortunately I do not remember the exact cost, but it does not exceed 5 euro per person). There is not much to look at here - a small inner territory, a library hall, cafes and restaurants in the season ... but the most important thing that attracted me here is the opportunity to climb the fortress walls and explore the surroundings. And here the whole charm of the place hides, for what I am ready to pay money - the views, panoramas and the feeling of the ancient port city-fortress which protected in medieval times the entrance to the bay! I spent a lot of time there and took some pictures; in this case on my smartphone.

I have very good impressions from visiting this interesting place and I would like to get here again in the future to once again imbue the atmosphere of medieval Europe, to feel under my feet ancient stones on which generations of people have walked for hundreds of years. And it's all for me - traveliving.

And in the next post I would like to show few most interesting photos from Budva Citadel.
