The Five Petaled Flower
We are born of the earth,
Our mother and home,
We inherit her dust and her clay.
We are shaped by her hands,
We are nourished by her fruits,
We are rooted in her soil,
We are part of her way.
We are baptized in water,
Our sister and friend,
We are cleansed by her drops and her streams.
We are refreshed by her springs,
We are quenched by her rains,
We are carried by her currents,
We are mirrored in her dreams.
We are taken to the air,
Our brother and guide,
We are lifted by his breath and his breeze.
We are stirred by his winds,
We are soothed by his whispers,
We are flown by his wings,
We are free in his ease.
We are purified by fire,
Our father and teacher,
We are burned by his flames and his sparks.
We are warmed by his glow,
We are inspired by his light,
We are forged by his heat,
We are marked by his marks.
We are given the Spirit,
Our God and our grace,
We are filled with his love and his power.
We are blessed by his gifts,
We are led by his voice,
We are one with his presence,
We are his precious flower.
