On June 23rd I competed in the strokeplaycup at my local golf course. This is a season long event of 7 matches, of which the 5 best count for the overall standings.
Our course is a 9 hole which consists of 6 par 3 holes and 3 par 4 holes, which makes the par for 18 holes 60 strokes. Since this is strokeplay handicap doesnt count, just count the strokes and lowest score wins. Normally I get 5 strokes for 18 holes during other matches.
I suprised myself by playing really good. There was a downside to that, I played really good for 16 out of the 18 holes. 2 very bad holes really ruined my scorecard, I scored a 7 on the par4 5th, a hole I normally can drive to the green, and the par 3 8th was a disaster. Out of Bounds, water hazard, water hazard, a fluffed chip and we got to the tee of the nineth 9 strokes later.
After wrecking my card after 8 holes I came home the last 10 holes in just 2 over par, so i keep those holes in mind.
Final score for me was a 75, next time i need about 10 strokes less to be a happy golfer.
The picture added is the par 4 5th, which is 235 meters long.
Water, what's water😜
